Fantastic
Dr Pilgrim finally validated my concerns that I’ve been struggling with for over a year! So glad he was my second opinion. He’s a wonderful human and listened to my concerns and out all the pieces together. Thank you Meg and Dr Pilgrim!

Dangerously Dismissed
I'm in early middle age and was referred by my PCP to Dr. Pilgrim following several months of neurologic and autonomic symptoms significant enough to leave me unable to work. I waited an hour after my appointment time to see the doctor who performed a cursory physical exam and interview (about 8 min) and decided that the most prominent physical symptom noted by other physicians (hyperreflexia) was likely the result of my having young children, something supposedly "documented" in parents that goes away on its own when they grow up. It wreaked of old school you're-just-a-stressed-mom nonsense. He also said he generally has a sense/feeling within a few minutes whether a patient has anything significantly wrong. What he didn't do was look at my recent brain MRI or cervical spine X-ray or take a detailed history. He missed an anatomical brain abnormality on the MRI while not even considering the significant spinal cord compression discovered on additional imaging.

i was diagnosed as having a TIA, Dr. Pilgrim was the neurologist that looked over the hospital tests. He visited me while an inpatient and explained in lay terms what he felt happened and performed the neuro test associated with the symptom. We scheduled a follow up in his office he is very calming and explains things so that you understand what might have happened and what could happen in the future, I felt very comfortable talking to him and somewhat relieved
