Dr. David Schessel, MD

Dr. Schessel is one of the most thorough doctor I’ve seen in many years. He explains every part of the exam and diagnosis. I never felt rushed. His staff was kind and responsive, and his follow-up appointment after I had an additional test was timely and helpful I highly recommend him

I suffered from severe vertigo. Dr Schessel was kind, informative and genuinely cared about what the cause was for the vertigo. He is very smart and explains everything in depth. Highly recommend!

I saw Dr. Schessel for a pulsatile tinnitus consult at the Commack office and thought he was very thorough when examining me and spent quite some time with me. I didn't feel rushed at all. The staff at the front desk and assistants were also very pleasant.

DO NOT use Dr Schessel as your Physician . He has shown himself to be dishonest and not care one single bit about his patients well being - only about the almighty dollar so it seems ... He has not returned phone calls or e mails and his staff just keeps passing you around because “ that’s not our job , let me connect you to someone else “ and on and on it goes . Please , if you are considering Cochlear implants find a Dr that is worthy of such an invasive life altering surgery . Someone you can trust and stay connected to AFTER the procedure and he has been paid .

Dr Schessel is very nice and personable. It's his secretary Amy that is incredibly rude! She is unprofessional and speaks down to you on the phone. I have never dealt with such a rude person in my entire life and that says a lot because I am also in the medical field. She needs to be fired.

I generally don't write reviews, however my experience with the staff and their ability to organize and keep appointments is appalling. I recently had an appointment with Dr Schessel which was scheduled 4 months in advance. I showed up for the appointment and was informed that they cancelled it.. The receptionists stated that "you didn't call to confirm the appointment so it was cancelled." huh? Are you kidding me? What century is this? I was told too bad there is nothing that can be done.

Very personable He spent a half an hour with me explaining my prospective ear drum replacement surgery He answered all of my questions thoroughly and asked me to call if I had any more questions

He is not personable , he asked me to describe how I felt and my answer was met with a berating that I wasn't describing my symptom to his satisfaction, I've been a nurse for 27 years and have never experienced his level of ignorance for emotional intelligence and patient satisfaction
