Worst Most Demeaning Experience
My regular doctor was booked out for several months so I saw Dr. Black for my well woman. She came in without even greeting me and asked if I had any concerns. After starting to share with her that I have very intense PMDD and that I had hormone testing done that I wanted to talk about, she LAUGHED OUT LOUD. She then proceeded to tell me hormones were the only fix but since I can’t take them there wasn’t much to do. While on the exam table she wanted to make sure that I didn’t need birth control since “there aren’t many options for terminating a pregnancy in Texas.” I was disgusted. I cannot understand how this woman’s entire profession is caring for women and their unborn babies who apparently she has no problem killing. I would NEVER let her care for my pregnancy and I will not be returning.

Excellent Doctor to Liver Transplant Recipient
Dr. Dawn Black has been my doctor for over twenty years now. I had a liver transplant; four years later, she delivered our firstborn, a son. Then five years later delivered our baby girl. Excellent care and I highly recommend!!

My experience with Dr Black was literally the worst doctor experience I have ever had. She has no compassion, no bedside manner, does not listen to your issues and healthcare needs. My encounter with her was beyond horrible.

I was seeing Dr. Black for about two years and I tried to stick around, but I hate to say it. She really is not invested in her patients. I was so annoyed from our last appointment because I'm paying my money, but she wasn't even prepared for the appointment. She started offering a procedure that I already had and at that point I was completely done. I had a miscarriage in 2019 and the whole process seemed so impersonal. I should have left a long time ago. Take my advice, find a provider that invested in what you want to and listens.

I highly recommend Dr. Black. I saw her many years ago when I had fibroids that were numerous, large, and causing me many problems. I really wanted a child and she was clear that I needed to remove the fibroids to make that dream come true. She performed my open myomectomy and removed several fibroids. I later moved away from Houston and my new OB said my uterus looked great. And soon after that, I was pregnant - I gave birth to a healthy baby. And Dr. Black’s work on my uterus was a part of that. Dr. Black is highly skilled, knowledgeable, and I recommend her.

Worst experience I have had with a doctor. Was referred to another doctor at this practice who was booked for a while, but Dr Black had immediate availability. Very rude, combative and attacking demeanor. The rest of the practice's staff was nice, however. Also no communication from front desk that she was running an hour behind, would recommend letting patients know. Went to another doctor to get my annual after walking out of this appointment and had a very pleasant experience.

Dr. Black is confident, calm, and very easy to talk to. This has been especially nice during my first pregnancy because as a first time mom I am a little nervous.

Dr. Black took time to answer questions and helped me feel at ease with the diagnosis. She answered questions and didn't seem judgmental at all.

I have had both my children with Dr. Black and never a problem. Been a patient of hers for 25 years and never an issue with her, she is always concerned about knowing all the details that pertain to my issues. The staff in the office is very professional and courteous. I'm hard of hearing and their patience with me is phenomenal. Really happy in every aspect with Dr. Black I recommend her to anyone.
