Rude
I went to the ER at Good Sam’s off Lovejoy for full body itching that has been consistent for 3 months. After waiting 3.5 hours, I was condescended to by Dr. Dean Sasek that my symptoms were not severe and he gave me recommendations for things that have worked for his body in the past instead of listening to my concerns. He provided inadequate care and made me feel ashamed to have wasted his time as he is a doctor that handles “strokes, heart attacks and serious medical conditions.” He belittled me and I even asked him politely if I had just wasted 3.5 hours of my day to be told nothing and not even physically examined from head to toe. I’m extremely disappointed in how this doctor treated me especially as a woman of color. The front ER staff were great compared to their doctor counterparts. I will not be returning to Good Sam’s after this experience and I hope someone who comes in with similar symptoms can at least be given a full body examination as that is what I needed.

Great experience (During a bad time)
I honestly feel bad for all of the people that have had a bad experience with Dr. Sasek... But I can say my encounter was quite different. He has great bedside manner, he spoke to me as a person, took his time (even though the ER was busier than I'd ever seen it before), and I was overall happy with his diagnosis and treatment plan. Good Sam physicians always seem to be top notch and Dr. Sasek was no exception.

Condescending and cared more about my disability status than my critical condition. I fear this person has issues with implicit bias on multiple levels.

Jan. 18, 2021 My partner and I had been actively trying to conceive so I knew when I saw him in ER that he would tell me that I'm pregnant. But instead I found out that I had contracted Covid. He took urine & blood. But he only told me the results of the blood test & when I inquired about the results of the urine test he only said well if the blood test was negative, then it stands to reason that the urine is also. Before getting the pregnancy test results I said that I'm not comfortable taking Covid meds during pregnancy. He said if positive I would sign a waiver. But since he lead me to believe that I wasn't pregnant, I trusted this doctor as 1 should be able to. I accepted my Covid meds & went home. With only virtual appointment due to my Covid status at the time I never received an ultrasound. But then in mid February not even 2 months later, I was simply sitting & drawing when I felt a small pop & a gush. Two days or more later I passed a 9-10 week fetus. Dr. Dean Sasek lied??

I have the same complaints as the first reviewer; this doctor ordered tests that I did not need, he was rude and abrasive, and instead of showing compassion or empathy, he interrogated me to the point of frustration. Despite trusting my neighborhood Legacy Good Sam in Portland, OR, I will not go back simply because of my experience with this doctor. He went as far as to order security to guard my room until I let him order a test that was negative, not to mention costly, yet he failed to perform any routine (inexpensive) blood work. I cleared prior neuro exams (to r/o stroke or bleed), and asked to be discharged multiple times. He also violated my privacy. This is unacceptable treatment from an attending physician.

This Dr. was very unprofessional. Rude. Didn’t want to listen to my issues. He was loudly telling me what my issue was. Ordered tests that had already been done the same week. As far as I’m concerned he was wasting OHP money and Taxpayers money. Very uncaring, bedside manner was Horrifying.. I’ll Never come back to the Emergency room. I came for help and left Tramitized.. I’ll never refer anyone to him..!!! NEVER !!!!!
