Excellent doctor!
Dr. Presken is the most knowledgeable and caring doctor I have ever had. When we had relatives visiting from overseas, we asked her to examine them because we really value her opinion.

Not a good visit
I am in healthcare myself. This person did not so much as lay a finger on me, at all. There was ZERO physical examination. She gave patronizing, high-school health class level advice, and then charge a ludicrous amount for the visit. I would not recommend this patient to another patient, friend or colleague.

Poor care
Similar to a lot of these patient reviews, Dr. Presken is not really concerned with providing health care but making money. She withholds medicine, orders for regular procedures like mammograms and bone density exams so that the patient will come in, just to then have to come back based on these procedures. For routine exams, she requires patients to go to the office instead of a Zoom. If you are nearby and love going to the doctor, she is your person. If you actually need healthcare and can't make it to an office often, I would not recommend.

Compassionate and Intelligent
Dr. Presken is meticulous, compassionate and extremely kind. She will offer as many visits as needed to get to the root of the issue and is very responsible with her therapy choices. She explained in detail the issue I was encountering and gave me options to help plan my own recovery journey. I am so grateful to have her.

Worst Doctor
I broke my foot had several hair-line fractures. From the ER it was recommended I see a Podiatrist for follow-up therefore I required referral from Presken. I never spoke to her after pleading with the office help to please have her call me. Presken told her her that if I can walk to the Podiatrist's office then I can come in to see her. Presken insisted that I come to her office to make sure my foot was broken I suppose or to collect money for the visit. I explained numerous time, pleaded may times that I was in such horrible pain that it was not possible. I said if you have a wheelchair I can try but could not guarantee all this for trying to get a referral. I received a call later in the day from some man that I could not understand very well. He too wanted me to come in at this point my patience was drained I was experiencing so much pain all this for a referral. Finally got one who would ever want to go to doctor like her who has no empathy or compassion, not me.,

she wants you to schedule new appointment for everything, if you have sore throat and also pain in joints, she will ask you to schedule another appointment for joint pain so that she can charge you twice.

Dr Presken has gone above and beyond during these difficult covid19 times. When Aetna dropped my doctor right before the pandemic, and I couldn't find a doctor that would "establish care" until the pandemic is over, she accepted me, established care through video conference, with a detailed interview. In the past 6 weeks, I have gone through most likely covid 19 with an ER visit for respiratory distress, a breast cancer scare & biopsy, a rash, and kidney stones. She has called me to discuss my test results each time, and has shown she truly cares for me as a patient. From our conversations I can tell she has been educating herself with the latest information about covid19, and strives to give patients the best care. Thank you, Dr. Presken!

I thought I liked dr Presken at first. As a nurse, I thought she seemed thorough. As time went on though...she does talk down to people. Can only discuss 1 topic at each appointment?! That is unrealistic for people to make multiple appointments! The most concerning is the unneeded tests. Many unnecessary tests. It makes her appear money hungry, not very intelligent, or that she had messed up in the past and covers her tail with too many tests. She refuses to give monthly prescriptions without appointments. She has honestly tried to talk my husband out of taking his psychiatric/antidepressants! Would you convince a diabetic to stop taking their insulin?! No. Then she wants to know why he refuses to stop taking them! I am an understanding person when it comes to doctors...I’m an experienced nurse....but I have never had an experience like this before. I would not trust her with my kids.

Condescending and belittling. Too busy listing her credentials on paper to listen. Asks questions in a mean, pointed manner and will make you feel bad for piping up while she’s droning on, or disagreeing. She basically flipped her hair at me and walked out when I spoke up. Off to find another doctor who will hear my symptoms before talking for the entire rest of the appointment time.

Dr Presken was very rude and the most unprofessional Dr I have ever met. During the visit, when I asked a question she laughed very loud and obnoxiously and 3 times said, "that's funny". Needless to say, I put my shoes on while she was talking and told her Im not getting my physical with her and left. She also was very passive agressive and kept saying "like I said" I would never refer anyone to her!

just now Seriously the most rude and money-hungry doctor I’ve ever been serviced by. She carries herself in a way that’s only concerned with getting patients in and out and barely gets to know you. She’ll find any opportunity to have you come in again so she can charge you for her mediocre service. She fails to give courtesy reminder to not eat or drink before blood tests if she decides to take one which has incorrectly produced blood results and then requires you to come back and charges you again for the service. She does not know what she’s doing - she inaccurately diagnosed me with a possible case of diabetes and sent me to her recommended endocrinologist. When I went to the endocrinologist, the moment the doctor walked through the door, she looked me up and down and laughed and told me there’s no way I have diabetes and that Dr. Presken took my blood work wrong twice. She even mentioned that she has heard from referred patients that they don’t like Presken Family Care.

If want shared decision making with your Dr, do not see Dr. Presken. I was prescribed a medication. Before taking it, I wanted to understand all of the side effects, so I did my own research. Through my research, I found a side effect that she did not inform me of, so I decided I didn't want to take the medicine, but rather a medicine that had worked for me in the past. I was berated for doing my own research. Her tone was combative when I told her that I have a right to be an informed patient.

I've been seeing Dr. Presken since 2016. She is always willing to listen and talk over my health concerns. Some doctors want to rush right through appointments, but Dr. Presken is not one of those doctors. On those few occasions where I wondered if she got the diagnosis right, a trip to a different doctor has always proved her correct. I am thoroughly happy with Presken Family Care and will continue to see Dr. Presken as my primary care physician!

One year later, I have just completed paying blood labs ordered for a routine annual physical that concluded there was literally nothing wrong with me. Please note the blood work payments came second to paying the mammogram that was ordered for me (low-risk population member) without bothering to check when my last menstrual period was. I was humiliated at the mammogram for not knowing my menstrual cycle affected breast shape and feel and got to pay $600 for that terrible experience.

I am not sure how this office is still open. The doctor is very judgemental and if you disagree on anything- including personal items at your house (look at her questionaire)- you will not be invited back as a patient. Good luck, you will need it.
