Very empathetic
Dr Tewari is very knowledgeable My son has Eosinophilic Esophagitis and Dr Tewari has managed him so well that he has no symptoms now, prior to her we had seen 4 GI’s and it was awful

Do not waste your time with this doctor
Do not waste your time with this horrible doctor. I can’t believe I was even sent to her. She didn’t listen to my worries as a mother for my child. She told me I’m not being consistent with my child’s medication. She has been suffering from constipation since birth. I came to her thinking she was going to run tests and come up with a plan. But she was ignoring everything I told her. I even had a emergency discharge summary. RUDE DOCTOR

Do Not Recommend
Dr. Tewari is egotistical, cruel, and insensitive. It does not appear that Dr. Tewari understood, nor took the time to master, her involvement with parents when entering a pediatric field. She is dismissive and condescending during consultations and does not work collaboratively when it comes to treatment planning. While I do not doubt Dr. Tewari's competency in the area, I do not feel it should be at the expense of kindness and bedside manner.

Our initial visit to this doctor was for my son's severe stomach pain, loss of appetite, and diarrhea. During the visit, she conducted an X-ray and instructed us to administer a probiotic, scheduling a follow-up appointment in five weeks. However, my son's condition worsened, and when we contacted her office, the front desk informed us that the earliest available appointment was in three weeks. They promised to relay a message to the doctor. As any concerned parent would, I then reached out to his pediatrician, who saw him immediately. Late in the day, Dr. Tewari finally called back. I explained the situation and mentioned that we had consulted his pediatrician. She responded rudely, suggesting that we should have gone to the ER instead of the pediatrician. She further complicated matters by stating that since the pediatrician had requested labs, we now had to choose which doctor to follow up with. This conversation happened over speakerphone in my car, and both my husband and son heard her unprofessional tone. Rather than providing clear next steps for my son's pain, she curtly mentioned she would send an order for an endoscopy. When I asked if her office would contact me, she sarcastically replied that while she wouldn't call, her office would. They never did. Frustrated and dissatisfied, I cancelled all future appointments with her office. Her conduct was unacceptable and unprofessional, making her the worst doctor we've encountered.

Just bad - choose someone else
Doesn't listen, is always right, not open to discussing anything or answering questions. Can't even remember the treatments she prescribed. Told us to go on an elimination diet, but could never even remember the diet she prescribed and what he was and was not eating. But would love to do multiple endoscopies on your kid when they are not necessary to the tune of billing the insurance company $40k for each one. Are 8 endoscopies really necessary for a little kid? Will tell you she will call with test results within a week and you will finally hear back over a month later. When she calls you with said results out of the blue, she will be snarky with you when you return the call because you were not available when she called you. How dare you not answer the phone. I have experienced Dr's with God Complex before, but she really takes the cake. Please find another Gastro.

Awful, Condescing, Rude, Doesn't Listen
Son had intense lower abdominal pain for MONTHS - response received was “that’s not my area, go see your pediatrician, that’s what he’s there for”. Really? Last time I checked you are a GI DR!! Had to cancel an endoscopy because his pain was so bad. Repeatedly asked if she ever looked into his lower GI area and was told “I took x-rays back when you first came in”. Finally we called CHOP to set something up w/ their Eosinophilic Esophagitis clinic. On mention of going to CHOP, she immediately perked up and FINALLY wanted to examine our son and sent him for another xray of his lower GI. Low and behold! He was incredibly and almost dangerously backed up/constipated. Had we not mentioned seeking out other medical advice she never would have listened. I can’t count the number of times she gaslit me about things that were THERE in plain sight! She even wrote in our chart “Mother is overwhelmed and scheduled a second opinion at CHOP” Yes I did!! And they are actually listening to us!

Terrible bedside manner and lack of due diligence
We came to see Dr. Tewari for our son's feeding issues. She told us if he didn't start eating more, we may need to put in a feeding tube. She didn't offer to do additional testing or figure out other strategies (as the doctor we started seeing instead of her did). And when I looked at her, upset at the prospect, she responded with 'It's not my job to make you feel better, that's your pediatrician's job.' She has a complete lack of thoughtfulness, due diligence or bedside manner. Moreover, having her comment in the back of our minds during every bottle feeding caused more stress and anxiety in all of us and actually made my son's feeding issues worse. A few days after our initial visit I called with a follow up question and was charged a copay for a conversation lasting less than 5 minutes. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

Five Stars if it weren't for the office staff
Dr. Teawi is a caring, competent physician who takes the time to get to know here patients and work with anxious parents. I would give five stars if it weren't for her office staff. It is nearly impossible to contact Dr. Tewari via email, and her office staff does not return calls despite multiple messages left. We have had several (many?) instances where the office staff has failed to send a prescription for lab materials or failed to send RX permission to the at home infusion nurse to draw blood or administer meds. Trying to get in touch with someone that can actually help when this happens (frequently) is almost impossible. So Dr. Tewari gets 5 stars. But her office staff? Fuggetaboutit. You'll have better luck with customer service at Walmart. Be prepared to spend literally HOURS trying to get help when you need it.

First visit was fine and was a visit prior to a procedure. second visit was for the procedure. at that visit we realized we made a mistake in coming to see Dr. Tewari. She did not explain anything after the procedure but gave the name of a surgeon to do a procedure which was for a condition that was NOT confirmed. I cannot recommend her as she did not explain anything but instead made statements in front of my child which were without candor and should have been among other things.

The doctor is good except for getting prescriptions and really important paper work in on time. I've had to follow up way to many times and now I'm changing doctors. I should not have to be so stressed out getting my child the prescriptions needed for supplies
