All reviews are confirmed and audited before publication, and community members have the ability to flag inappropriate content for further review by our team.

Chronically Irritated no attention to detail. Expertise in anxiety? Are you kidding? Read the reviews on other sites. He is the exact example of a doctor that the nation is complaining about right now. Cold, rushing, irritated....He seems overwhelmed by his own practice and it shows in the annoyed disposition of the staff, who have to deal with him all day when he shows up. I'll never forget once he came in stating " what do you need?" In front of his PA in training. I decided that day I was finding a new doctor. I have more complaints but you can read all the reviews by other patients. Pretty much all the same. At least he doesn't discriminate.

Hot Mess
My entire family (husband, mom, daughter, son in law and self) have been patients at Dr. Allen office. During Covid the staff was kind and considerate. However in the two years it’s become a hot mess. I’ve had multiple appointments cancelled because of office errors. When I arrive they don’t have me scheduled, but I have a card with the appointment. No one takes responsibility when a mistake is made. Now after doing them a favor and changing to a telemedicine appt they cancelled that one too because I wasn’t available to pay the copy hours before my appt. If I was available then I’d of made my appointment at that time. When speaking to the office manager or any of the front office staff all of my family members have been treated terribly. I wouldn’t recommend this office, at least if you really want an appointment. I’m not sure when patient care and customer service went out the window but it did at Total Family Care.

Looking for a New Provider – Aug 23, 2023
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Allen?
Dr. Allen rarely sees his patients in person at his practice - Total Care Family Practice. I was only "gifted" the courtesy of a Telehealth call once, on which he sounded inconvenienced. In addition to his poor manner and unavailability, his front desk staff are completely unprofessional and inept. The biggest issue is lack of communication and complete unprofessionalism from the front desk employees. They rarely answer the phone. They do not return voicemails in a timely manner if at all. They wait days to follow up on online appt requests. I wonder why they have an online scheduling system if they do not actually use it. Their version of scheduling through their system is they will email you that the request has been sent. Then, days later they will call you. If you are not available at that moment, be ready to wait days longer to reach them because when you immediately call them back, they forward you to voicemail. I don't even know when they check voicemail because this last experience, they did not call me back until I emailed the scheduling email again! Then one of the schedulers called me back, acted like she could not hear me all of the sudden in the middle of our conversation, and hung up. What a game they play. This struggle to schedule an appt is not even the first time this has happend. This last experience was just the worst of many bad experiences with this practitioner and his staff. So unprofessional. Also, there have been a couple times where they completely forgot that I was waiting for service after they told me to go sit in the seating area. Looks like I will be seeking a new PCP. This place is a risk to anyone's health.

I think Dr. Allen is a figment of the imagination. I have not seen his face in 5 yrs except for the marketing film that runs constantly in the waiting room. Have come across several PAs that seemed to know their business but each time I visit there is someone new. All they do is refer you to someone else and charge you a co-pay for doing it. Find someone else.

Do not use this practice (Total Care Family Practice). Period. Wish I'd read these reviews before going but it was the only one I could quickly get an appt with between a crummy ACA plan and COVID. The office staff is extremely brash and rude, very unsympathetic to the fact that they have patients - people who are sick and need help. The doctor (#1) was not thorough and made a misdiagnosis. My wife went in because she was feeling fatigued and weak. Having received bloodwork results, Dr. Courtney Jee diagnosed that my wife's fatigue was a result of EBV. My wife, thinking that she was (still) infectious, decided to have everyone in the family tested. When I arrived for my appointment, I was rushed by the nurse to finish paperwork - literally given a time limit and told I would lose my appt if I didn't finish (meanwhile trying to attend to my wife not feeling well, her mother, our 5 y/o). When I went in to get the preliminary checkup, I explained to my attending doctor (#2) why and s

This place only wants money from you. They made my wife 3 separate appointments in 5 days instead of taking care of everything in one day. They never kept record of a referral to a cardiologist THAT THEY MADE FOR HER last year and expected her to pay again to just ask the doctor for a referral. She has to pay because they cant do their job... honestly surprised we weren't billed for occupying the waiting room. Stay away!

saw Dr yrs ago. Had pain in my hand. He never did tests. I wish I could've figured it out myself b4 it was too late but that's y he is a dr. After he left the practice a new Dr took the time & xrayed my neck. I needed a spinal surgery asap. I ended up having RSD which now yrs later has spread throughout my body. I am probably going in a wc now bc I keep falling & fx my ankle-3 bones. This nerve disease has to be diagnosed within months & there is no cure. Allen should have done no harm thnx

His office was quick to see me. They listened to my concerns and easily made the referrals to the specialists I was needing. Because I went in fasting they were able to do my blood and urine right then.

We have been patients with the practice and have never seen a doctor, just PAs. Dr Allen only works on his new age wellness practice, never any actual medicine. Today I called to get help for my wife and only 1 PA was there and the receptionist could not care less about our needs. I will be billing Dr. Allen for the urgent care co-pay of $50.00

I've been treated at both Dr. Allen's Wellness & Medical Center and family practice. The Wellness & Med Ctr is a concierge service, so you have to pay. I received excellent care at both practices. At the family practice you only see the physician's assistant (PA), unless Dr. A is needed. I found the PA to be thorough & patient. I went to the Wellness Ctr and got outstanding advice on cholesterol/taking a statin. Dr. A talked through all my blood work and talked through all pros and cons.

All the reviews are correct. He only sees VIP patients. They also hassle you to join his special "Wellness Classes." He makes outrageous claims and refuses to provide the research to back them up unless you pay hundreds of dollars for his classes. He's a quack and a disgrace to the profession. His office staff is also equally awful. No wonder you an always get an appointment...with an Assistant, never him. He's the worst.

He tries to get you to come in for another unnecessary visit way before you are due to. The only logical reason is he wants your money! His 2 best PAs he had didn't even stay with him for a year! There are issues in his office definitely!

Dr. Allen used to be my doctor at another clinic and he saved my son's life by accurately diagnosing a burst appendix. After losing him for a while due to my insurance, I called his office today so I could get him back as my PCP. Things have changed. He no longer sees patients directly and has his Physician Assistants see you instead. He only sees patients if they're cash-paying (i.e., no insurance). So what's the point of having a good doctor who won't even see you? Absolutely none.
