Wonderful staff from registration to visit. Stephanie the PA is amazing. Patient care is top notch. Dr Fontans chair side manner is great. The Fundoplication I had was Definitely life-changing.

I had a Nissen fundoplication in 2014 that ended up not relieving my GETD symptoms. I modified the way I ate and my diet to include eliminating carbonated and caffeinated beverages, spices, tomato based etc. I began having problems swallowing and it felt as though food was getting stuck in my chest. I was seen be Gastro who discovered a large hiatal hernia and referred me to Dr. Fontan. All I can say is amazing and a saving grace. He is amazing and so are his staff. I liked the education classes and the office communication before and after the procedure. Dr. Fontan performed a toupin procedure to correct the hernia defect. I had no problems with the surgery before, during or after. No complications and today at my 6 month follow-up I am down 20 lbs and able to eat without pain. If you are in need of bariatric or hernia services, I highly recommend Dr. Fontan and the wonderful staff at NM Bariatric Institute.

Doctor Fontan gives you all his attention one on one. My insurance denied my surgery for Heartburn and GERD and he went and appealed for me and it got approved. He is a genuine Doctor and cares for his patients.
