Went to McDermott after horrible experience at other place in Chico. Dr spends a lot of time with you to give you the best service. Very compassinaite person and office staff are great as well.

I waited 45 min. For an appointment at which time he cancelled my appointment. I made another appointment, only to have him call and say he couldn’t see me because there were not enough doctors in Chico. Total flake.

I have been a patient for many years. I had suffered through the lack of care from office manager Nancy because Dr. McDermott was worth the difficulty. When he brought receptionist Linda on board the office care became outstanding. She is wonderful! Now she is no longer there and this place is back to being the pits. Nobody answers phones or returns messages. When I walked in the new receptionist is clueless to everything and only concerned about text dinging on his phone. I have not had my prescription filled in over a month. I am taking my needs to another office.

Dr Mcdermont has seen my ex husband for 12 years and is a great physician. We tried to have my daughter be seen by his partnering doctor. We made an appointment two months ago (first available), my daughter drove over 1.5hrs to be told that the dr wasn’t there and that they didn’t have a phone number to contact her at. Yet, they have called me twice to gather insurance information and to confirm address. I tried to call them back and Linda was VERY rude and said “your daughter doesn’t want to be

Cannot even give him a review because he refused to see a family member in need and would not provide a reason. Therefore, I would recommend finding a doctor with a heart and better attitude.

I have seen this Doctor for more than 10 years. I have never had any Doctor to compare with him as far as expressing compassion, clarifying what he hears you saying, or listening when you talk about the problems that you have dealing with Mental Illness. I am a resistant patient and treating me is a challenge. He has much more patience than I have encountered with any other Mental Health Profession. I push his patience at times but he has not given up on me yet.

Caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. The kindest Dr, in any field, I have met. He listens and engages in conversations, which is lacking on the health care community.

Very easy to talk with, supportive and non-judgmental, very knowledgeable about Alzheimer's treatment.

Very thoughtful, helpful man.
