Minutes Before DMX
Met with Dr. Mattson-Gates two different times before surgery. Minutes before I was wheeled to surgery, I was left alone with her. She said I should only have a lumpectomy and not DMX. She repeated this to me three times even after I told her I was staying with my decision to do a DMX. This stressed me tremendously just before surgery and through my recovery. I did change to another plastic surgeon and am very pleased. I am still affected by her unprofessionalism.

Would not recommend unless it's an emergency
No compassion. No empathy. Rushed through options and consents. Not prepared. Not professional. Had me walk through a populated hallway with an open and bleeding would exposed on my face.

Double mastectomy. Rushed through questions, spoke poorly of RNs in hospital, ill-prepared for sessions. Can show arrogant demeanor. I can’t comment on her skill set as I have no comparison, but the surgery seems good.

Dr. Matson-Gates performed breast reduction surgery on me several years ago. During consultation she made insulting remarks saying 'you are what you eat' & to lose weight. I weighed in the upper 160's at 5'7 & had lost 70+ pounds with my own willpower, no gastric surgery. She was insensitive & rude not knowing my weight loss history saying she was a model at my age. As for surgery results there's a lump of flesh bulging beside one breast & gave cortisone injections for scar which sunk in tissue.
