Not the doc to see if you want detailed exam
Saw the doc in the spring 2023. What stood most was the rushed review of moles and freckles (which I am covered in, lol). I was expecting a more thorough review and did not get that. Instead, I was told in more detail than I cared for, about cosmetic procedures. Since I have had experience with a dermatologist who took their time and reviewed with me all of the spots that may be of concern, visit with this doc was definitely not it. Would not recommend if you want a real and thorough skin exam.

I definitely recommend Dr. Varghese. He is incredibly respectful and professional. He is very knowledgeable and confident, but not overly confident. I also appreciated that he was upfront about the cost of the procedure - most doctors aren’t like that. He has a wonderful assistant as well who is incredibly kind.

He is helping me with acne. Very friendly nice personable guy. Everything is going well and I wouldn't recommend anyone else having tried to get the proper treatment for acne for years. Great Doctor!

I cannot recommend Dr. Varghese to anyone. After I told him I only use a fragrance free line, he took 2 minutes to assess that I was "using products with too much fragrance" (how is that possible?!), prescribing me a cortisone cream, and walking out. I am not a doctor but I come from a medical family; it takes spunk to completely ignore relevant details from the patient. My symptoms included not just a rash but a fever and sore throat as well. If I were worse off this would be malpractice.

I went to Dr Varghese for my annual dermatology review, as a new patient recently moved to Manhattan. He was very personable, attentive, and clear in his explanations. He was thoughtful in his questions, and listened to mine. He was confident, but not smug. His assistant Jessica was very professional as well. I felt good upon leaving that he checked me over well, including doing a small in office biopsy. Very happy with my new dermatologist.

Though consulting dermatologist in New Orleans and New York for serious problems with itching, mostly at night, I found little help. A few months ago I consulted Dr. Varghese. He prescribed a new pill, and a new salve. I was not expecting any miracles, but looking for whatever relief I could get. But the relief was, to me, quite miraculous. For the first time in many years, I sleep through the night and the itching is largely a thing of the past. I am extremely grateful to Dr. Varghese.

I was seen by Dr. Varghese several weeks ago. The office staff was efficient and pleasant. Wait time was minimal and the doctor assessed and addressed my medical concerns appropriately. He provided sufficient information about his diagnosis and treatment plan which allowed me to fully participate in my care and make an informed decision. He was not warm and fuzzy, nevertheless, he was professional, practical and efficient. I plan to return and would definitely recommend him.

Dr. Varghese only spent about 5 minutes with me during our consultation. He never looked closely at my skin or touched my face at all. He was dismissive and seemed uninterested in helping me when I came in for a consultation about acne scars. I left feeling a bit sad and helpless. Even though the acne was hormonal, they considered this a cosmetic consultation and would not bill through my insurance so the appointment was also expensive.

Not being a physician, I can't evaluate Dr. Varghese's medical knowledge, but he seems to know what he's doing and his treatment of me thus far has kept me healthy. He stands out for having a wonderfully friendly open manner. It's genuinely a pleasure to be his patient. He explains things very clearly and is extremely friendly. I would put him forward as a model of how a doctor should interact with patients.
