A leading expert in bariatric surgery.
After I spent many years waffling on the decision and researching surgeons, I went to Dr. Hamad for my Roux-en-Y gastric bypass in 2017. Not only does she demonstrate true excellence in the operating room, but she is also always patient, supportive, and very clear with communication in person. My surgery, recovery, and subsequent weight loss went perfectly. She is one of the most experienced bariatric surgeons anywhere and her many patients have a very, very low risk of surgical complications.

Scheduled to see Dr. on 1-23-18 but received phone call from her staff asking why I needed to see her. Explained still having pain on right side of my abdomen and wasn't my ovaries (had 3 vaginal ultra sounds) which she stated in 2016, after CT Scan. Dr. said since I had reversal on my gastric bypass, she couldn't help me. My PCP and gynecologist suggested I see General Surgeon and/or return to Dr. Hamad who is a Bariatric Surgeon and General Surgeon for the problem. Disappointed with her.
