cost of consultation
When called for my son they said first visit is only consultation with a copay for $30 with no procedures, than during the visit dr. Levitin swings by the patient chair & numbs my child's nose, without any discussion whatsoever. proceeds with endoscopy, after 10 minute visit I am sent to a drug store to purchase over the counter steroid spray. My insurance is billed $1150 for a SURGERY! w my copay $340. After speaking to the office in recorded phone call they told me that they will not be sending me any bills & I don't have to pay but than they go to the hospital billing department telling them I am fully responsible for the cost. Apparently EVERY consultation in this office includes endoscopy which WILL be filed with ALL insurances as a SURGERY. Be aware, if you want to go - call your insurance & ask what is your copay on this kind of surgery is! The biggest waste of time & money I've ever done.

Skilled and empathetic
I am so happy I ended up stepping into Dr. Levitin's office after suffering from chronic sinusitis and eustachian tube blockage all my life. I had all the usual textbook symptoms. But after the balloon sinuplasty, swell body and turbinate reduction, I finally understood what it meant to breathe free. I felt that Dr. Levitin cared about what was best for me, and he made swift decisions in my interest when tough choices had to be made. That he is at the top of his game goes without saying - the procedure was carried out like a well-rehearsed musical performance. It reminded me of what one Juilliard pianist once told me: when a pianist has mastered her art, some passages may sound very fast, but never hurried. Dr. Levitin also has a great team to support him - they are a real asset in our great city.

Amazing with Tula Tubes and Balloon Sinoplasty!
My son was his first Tula Tubes patient and he was so great with a bedside manner that is often lacking today in healthcare. I decided to go back to him for my sinuses and he performed ballon sinoplasty. Once again he was unbelievable. If I could give him a 100 star review I would. I STRONGLY recommend everyone go to him.

Dr Gregory Levitin seems smart & technically competent. His office facilities are clean & modern. Appointments were easy to get. Dr Levitin helped get insurance pre-auth quickly for my imaging. However, I had multiple challenges at his practice in recent times. I want Dr Levitin's and his office to succeed - I am leaving this review w/ good intent. After unsuccessfully trying all internal channels, I am resorting to this public review, so he has the opportunity to review and fix the process. Firstly, I went for completely unrelated issues on two separate occasions, but the doctor applied pressure to do surgery for deviated septum and for concha bullosa (significant number of ppl have this, and will lead a healthy life w/o any symptoms - I did not have any symptoms either - pls do not fall for this). Dr Levitin's office has a misguided notion of patient care, has implemented red-tape (rules of which are inconsistently implemented and sometimes made up on the spot) for no good reason, and is not integrated w/ Mount Sinai. Firstly, Dr Levitin had ordered a lab for me. Three weeks later, I still did not have the lab results even though the lab had released the results 5-7 business days later. They wanted me to make an appointment to get the lab results (later found to be negative) even though I had decided to transfer care elsewhere, and have the legal right to my own medical records. I was told they cannot email the lab results to my personal email for security reasons (even though my email address is registered w/ Mount Sinai, and they had sent me the Dr's notes a week earlier at the same email address). They did not want to send it using Mount Sinai mycharts either. Do they not trust the security of their own system? They said they can fax it to another specialist I was about to see. I called 3 times to confirm they had faxed the lab results. However, when I visited the specialist, I found out they had merely faxed them irrelevant docs w/o the lab results. Before I wrote this review, I spoke to the Mount Sinai patient representative to resolve this matter internally. The patient representative spoke to the office on at least two different occasions. I was informed that the Dr Levitin's office will send me the lab results by postal mail. When the results arrived, it had a page missing. Secondly, Dr Levitin and his staff do NOT use the Mount Sinai mycharts system. I sent them half a dozen messages on mycharts and ALL of them went unanswered. The messages have "Last Viewed" timestamps which confirm someone has read them but hasn't bothered to reply. I have had mixed answers when I asked them over the phone to clarify if they use the Mount Sinai mycharts system or not. Dr Levitin's notes are also not available on Mount Sinai mycharts system, even though I have access to notes from all the other providers I have seen. Even the most trusting person will speculate that revealing lab results, and getting answers to followup questions over mycharts has been made purposely hard, to have patients make another appointment, so that the office can charge the insurance some more monies. Lastly, they sent my prescription to the wrong pharmacy. This is merely a human error and NOT a big deal in my mind. However, when I pointed out the mistake it took them over a week to redirect it to the right pharmacy despite repeated, friendly reminders over Mount Sinai mycharts and phone. To make matters worse, there were two different antibiotics in the prescription order (instead of one), and it took me another week to clarify which was the right one. The person I spoke to said they cannot see the second antibiotic order on their side, even though I can clearly see it in Mount Sinai mycharts, and the pharmacy had filled both prescriptions. Prescription for steroids was wrongly refilled, even though it was a one-time course.

I am a 46 year old man and have been suffering from severe congestion and sinus headaches for years. My headaches got so bad and debilitating that I could not function as a human being. I went to see Dr. Gregory Levitin and after ordering a CT scan, he quickly diagnosed my issues. He clearly explained his plan to perform a balloon sinuplasty procedure in his office in NYC. The procedure was quick and painless. Dr. Levitin explained each step during the procedure, which made me feel very comfortable. My recovery took about 3 days after which I started to breath from my nose again, for the first time in 20 years. I highly recommend Dr. Levitin to everyone.

I decided to book an appointment with Dr. Levitin after not being able to breathe through my nose most days, loss of taste, and loss of smell. Dr. Levitin performed a balloon sinuplasty in his office in NYC after a consultation and the benefits were explained to me versus surgery. It was a pretty quick procedure and I experienced minimal discomfort. Dr. Levitin is very gentle and definitely knows his way around a nose. After three days I was able to smell and taste more than I’ve been able to in months. At the end of the first week most of my congestion was gone. Now it’s been 2 1/2 weeks since my procedure and my quality of life has vastly improved. I used to not be able to lie down without both nostrils feeling closed off, but now I’m getting the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. I cannot recommend nor thank Dr. Levitin enough for recommending and carrying out this procedure.

Prior to undergoing to Clarifix procedure, I had struggled for multiple years with a chronic runny nose. It was so rampant that I needed to carry a pack of pocket tissues with me everywhere. It was normal for me to go through an entire pack of these tissues in one day, sometimes even more. Following the procedure, however, I have experienced tremendous relief. My breathing has improved, but most importantly, I would say I've experienced around 70% relief with my chronic runny nose. I went from using 7+ tissue packs a week to now using just 1. I now feel like I can live a normal lifestyle, one without this discomfort of a runny nose and also without others thinking I am constantly sick. I would highly recommend this procedure to anyone experiencing similar symptoms to myself.

Dr Levitin was a joy to work with. He performed the balloon procedure on my sinuses last summer, and while he was careful not to promise too much, my breathing is significantly improved, I have not had my normal change-of-season sinus infection and my vertigo is GONE!!!! Thank you, thank you.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr Levitin. We will forever be grateful for this incredibly talented Doctor. Our son was born with a large Vascular tumor on his head. All of our local specialists (we live in Orange County, CA, so have access to amazing Doctors) insisted our son needed 2 surgeries, first being an embolization (which could have resulted in brain damage, stroke and blindness), then a second surgery, plastic surgery to remove the mass. And he would need to stay in the PICU for a week. Fortunately I did a lot of research and found the incredible Dr Levitin. He performed surgery on our son when he was 8 months old. He removed the vascular tumor in a 2.5 hour outpatient procedure and we took our son home a few hours later. The surgery and recovery both went extremely successfully! And you can barely see a scar! Dr Levitin is EXTREMELY talented and experienced at what he does. He is also a very nice man and always very responsive to my communication. We will forever be gratefu

This Dr is extremely caring & professional. He takes his time to explain in detail your condition & the various forms of treatments available, even if it isnt something he provides. He draws from life experience, & will suggest life style changes as a guide to overall wellness. The unique Balloon Sinoplasty procedure, he performed on me,had immediately helped with the ability to breathe & drain fluids & with minimal down time. He follows up, remembering your concerns & making sure you aren't a #

Dr. Levitin is one of the most competent, professional doctors I've come across. I've had nasal / breathing issues all of my life, which got progressively worse. I was "suffocating" and deep breathing regularly. An acquaintance referred Dr. Levitin who changed his life. Dr. Levitin recommended a turbinate reduction and Latera. He performed both non-surgical, in office procedures. My breathing, physical and emotional health have been lifted and my quality of life greatly impacted.

Visit was for ears to be cleaned. He suggested hearing test due to age, which was fine with me. However I expressed skepticism re Medicare paying for same. Fortunately I decided to wait. MEDICARE DOES NOT PAY FOR ANY HEARING TESTS OR AIDS. I can't understand why he did not know this. Whose responsibility to pay if I had done the test? Weird as he accepts Medicare. He has pleasant personality and I did not feel rushed.

I had problems breathing properly for over 4 years due to hypertrophy of my turbinates inside my nose, Dr. Levintin performanced a surgical treatment call radiofrequency ablation, the procedure itself lasted no more than 10 minutes and NOW im breathing much better, sleep like a baby and my whole life have changed even my mood, highly recommended Dr leventin, explained everything very simple and easy to understand and the results were awesome.
