Dr. Gustavo Rivera, MD

This was my first first visit. Dr Rivera was great. Down to earth doctor. Explained everything in layman's term. Definitely will refer his office.

I cannot give a review on a visit that never happened. I was in the ER the week of Christmas with an extremely distended stomach. I was told by the ER doctor that I needed a certain test with a gastroenterologist. My doctor personally sent a text to Dr. Rivera. I called the office 4 times in 10 days. Nothing . When Dr. Phillips retired he assured me that at the two year mark the office would call to schedule a colonoscopy, as it’s very hard to get through on the phone.. They never called. They never returned phone calls. So here I am over 2 and a half years later with a problem. My doctor referred me to a different practice this past Friday and I was called the Monday am. This Dr. is seeing me on Wednesday.

I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy today. I tried reaching the doctor’s this morning. I explained the situation with the prep for the colonoscopy. They told me to go ahead and come in and do it anyway , when I got there, they told me there was that there was $750 due even though I have Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance.—I was never notified prior to surgery. The doctor would not talk to me after the procedures . The results were inconclusive… I was treated like cattle rushed in and out. It was a horrific experience… I do not recommend this doctor.. every time you call the office there’s a10 or 15 minute hold and nobody calls you back.. when I got home from the procedure. I was giving some vague paperwork of course , was unable to get any answers and speak to a live person….

Dr Rivera always spends time explaining everything to you and he has a great bed side manner. He is also an expert in his field. I highly recommend him.Thanks!

I like Dr. Rivera, but trying to get through to his office is a nightmare!!!

Getting lab results after an endoscopy was extremely frustrating. The results should have been in my patient portal. Instead, the office forced me to call 3x . I had to wait 30 minutes each time.. I was hung up on 1x, had to hang up after 30 minutes of waiting to get back to work. I have been waiting for 13 minutes and am still waiting g on my 3rd call. I feel like this office is all about the money and not about patient satisfaction. I am very disappointed about the inability to speak to a live person in a reasonable amount of time. The office will call you for billing but not with test results.

Dr. Gustavo was the one who found the tumor and had to give me the bad news. While I was in shock for obvious reasons he calmly explained the plan of action. The next day he came by my room to give me the good news that the scans were good, though technically I was not his patient any longer. His kindness and encouragement gave me hope and will to fight. Thank you doctor!

Dr Rivera is the BEST GI Dr !! If you LISTEN to him and follow his lead you're in very good hands. If he tells you to come back in 3 months, 1 year or 5 years you'd better listen! He found a cancerous polyp on 3/23 and referred me to a surgeon. He personally phoned surgeon and asked him to fit me in his schedule. I'm scheduled to have surgery on 4/17 I'll be in the hospital for my bday but it's better than the alternative. Importance of routine screenings save lives. Thank you Dr Rivera love you!!! :)

On Routine Colonoscopy Dr Rivera Found a suspicious lesion and totally removed it before it caused a problem, Thank You. His staff and nurse assistant is very attentive I highly recommend their though care.

Dr Rivera was very professional and knowledgeable. I saw him looking for help with my Gerds diagnosis made by a walk-in clinic doctor. After listening to my symptoms, Dr Rivera said he would not even examine me until after I saw a Cardiologist. I had triple by-pass surgery 3 weeks later. Thanks to Dr Rivera my blocked arteries were taken care of. I had no prior heart issues and never would have seen a cardiologist without his recommendation. Thank you Dr Rivera.
