Dr Alvi Spent quality time explaining my procedure to me. I am a veteran of many surgeries, and I have never been treated with this much compassion before. This was before Dr Alvi found out that I had lost my grandson. After that, he was even more kind. He made sure that my daughter was informed so she would not have anything else to worry about. When I was having difficulties post-surgery with the medication, he immediately was there to help me through the issue. It’s only been one week post surgery and my hip feels better than it has in years in spite of having two repairs at other places. I was also surprised at how quickly I was seen initially. I was seen as an individual. They order whatever tests are needed and they schedule your appointment right away so you can continue to live your life. He was also very flexible with my PT schedule because he knew that I would be needed out of state. I was treated as a whole person… not as a “hip replacement. “

Excellent Doctor!

I went to see Dr. Alvi due to pain in my hip. After his thorough exam he determined my knee was shot. Treatment ultimately ended with Dr Alvi performing a total knee replacement. Procedure was outpatient and I was home the same day. The final outcome of surgery has been tremendous. Full use of my knee and leg was restored in less than 6 months. Great doctor working in a first class facility. I have experiences with other doctors at Barrington Orthopedics as well and would highly recommend Dr. Alvi and his team along with Barrington Orthopedics.

Dr Hasham Alvi was my surgeon for total knee replacement in August 2024, the first of two to be done. I had been experiencing pain for years but was hesitant to take on such a big surgery without a solid reason. I visited Barrington Orthopedics and Dr Alvi on the recommendation of my oncologist. Upon meeting, I was given my options. Dr Alvi, to his credit, was not quick to jump to surgery, especially since I had just finished chemo and radiation the prior year. Instead, he offered me my options, building up to surgery. He told me surgery was inevitable but when I was ready. Xrays were taken…one knee being bone on bone and the second close behind. I tried cortisone injections; they gave me some relief, although short lived. I then tried gel injections which weren’t too much help. I opted for surgery as my daily activities were being seriously affected. You might want to contact Dr. Alvi or any other doctor in their practice but you cannot reach them. When you call you listen to a recording for about 20 minutes and still no one comes on the phone and we just hang up. Can never talk to anyone at Barrington Orthopedics. Very ill run medical office. I have had problems after treatment and cannot reach anyone at their office.

I brought my Mom for left side hip and knee pain that has been with her post double hip fractures and treatments from 2 different MDs.Dr Alvi ordered more x-rays than anyone before. When he came to the room it was evident he had reviewed her background and the just taken images he had printed out for us and was able specifically point out, in layman's terms, what was going on in each joint that was causing the pain. We got more answers and alternative plans of action in the 15 minutes we were with him, than in the year and a half, post hip surgeries. We didn't feel rushed and he did an excellent, excellent job making sure we understood what was normal, what was abnormal, and the various levels of treatment choices for her.Overall, an excellent visit with what seems to be an excellent and caring doctor.

From the time you enter the office until the time you leave is a great experience because, let's face it, who really wants to go the doctor? The receptionist was very personable and put us into an examining room as soon as we arrived. After a few seconds the personable physician assistant came in and it was the best experience I've ever had in a doctor's office. And, believe me, I'm not that young. He was great and understood my hesitance about a procedure and assured me it would work out well. Then Dr. Alvi came into the room and confirmed what I feel about this practice. He is a wonderful caring doctor. As I stated, the best of the best. Don't hesitate to be treated by this great team of people at Barrington Orthopedics in Elk Grove.

Dr. Alvi confirmed the arthritis in my hip and advised what treatment was best for me now. He was kind and very respectful of my questions, listened with care and did not rush through my appointment. I left feeling confident with my choice of consulting Dr. Alvi.

Took the time to review my X-ray and explained what was going on. Turned out to be a simple injury from overuse. Recommend stretching and strengthening and if needed Physical therapy.

Dr. Alvi listened to my pain symptoms and reviewed x-rays with me. I appreciate the time that he took to help me understand my issue.

I am 91 years old and Dr. Alvi operated on my hip. I had a full hip replacement and I'm less than two weeks out and I'm feeling great. I'm walking with a cane and feeling no pain. I highly recommend Dr. Alvi.

Dr. Alvi is my miracle worker. I was in pain and limping badly when he met with me explaining that I needed a total hip replacement. He listened patiently to my concerns and answered all my questions. Surgery was scheduled in a timely manner and I was able to go home the same day. During the healing process whenever I had questions I felt very comfortable reaching out to his time and always received the information I needed in a timely manner. Within 2 weeks I was walking on my own and feeling great! Before surgery I was unable to do many things I enjoyed and felt like I had aged 10 years. Dr. Alvi's expertise gave me back those years. I feel very confident recommending him to everyone, knowing they will get the same excellent, compassionate care I received. Love my new hip!!

I had a great experience with Dr. Alvi and his team. He gave me a couple of options for my hip pain of which surgery was the only real option. Scheduling surgery was quick and easy. I had same day surgery and was up and walking that day without any support and went home that evening. ALL the pre-op pain was gone! His staff was very prompt when relaying information. I am so happy and would highly recommend Dr. Alvi.

I had a hip replacement on 10/10/2022. I was back to work in two weeks. Dr Alvi is thorough, professional and an excellent communicator. I could not have been more pleased with the entire process!
