Dr. Howard Lane, MD

I really liked Dr. Lane who I've seen for years in the massapequa office. Unfortunately I changed doctors because I no longer wanted to deal with his rude and incompetent office staff in the Lake Success office. Simply making an appointment was difficult for them so I gave my business elsewhere. I wish Dr. Lane had the ability to teach his staff basic customer service skills. Instead I now see Dr. Angelilli in Bethpage. She's wonderful as is her staff.

I have been a patient of Dr. Howard Lane for twenty years. He is the consummate, professional, kind, experienced, well informed and I have always had full confidence in his recommendations for treatment, surgery, with proficiency in coordinated eye care communication with other exemplary specialists on my behalf. I hope to always have Dr. Lane on my eye care team!

Have been his patient for around 10 years and he is a great doctor. Very patient, informative and knowledgable. The office is well run. I would highly recommend.

Dr. Lane is a great doctor but the attitude and incompetence of the billing staff is enough to make me change practices. Every year they bill me for something my insurance covers and every year I have to argue with the billing department who just makes excuses and never takes responsibility. They are condescending and nasty. It's enough to make me find another doctor even though Dr. Lane is wonderful.

Excellent Dr. Professional, courteous, easy to talk to, answers all questions, not in any kind of rush. And above all I see better than ever.

Scheduled an annual eye exam. All was straight forward and the doctor was fine. I then received a bill with a payment due. When I contacted the billing department to inquire they stated it was not a routine exam. It most definitley was a routine exam that I had scheduled as part of my annual examinations. They billed insurance with a diagnosis based on a note that was entered into my file even though I did not go for any issue. Unfortunately, I am now stuck paying a balance because they are trying to get more money.

In March of 2018 Dr. Howard Lane performed cataract surgery on my left eye and in January of 2019, he did my right eye. Dr. Lane is a very compassionate and competent surgeon. Through the whole process he was happy to answer any and all of my questions and explained everything, making me feel totally comfortable with what what about to happen. I totally recommend Dr. Lane and everyone at South Shore Eye Care. I am never kept waiting and am usually in and out within an hour.

I had cataract surgery in 2013 I'm type 2 diabetic my eyes were so bad I couldn't see 1 foot in front of me Dr Lane did the surgery he made me feel at ease Dr Lane is one Awsome doctor if you need surgery Dr Lane is the one for you all of his associates are very good at south shore eyecare

Provides no information on what procedure there performing, dilated my wife’s eyes without letting her know, she was stuck in the car crying because she couldn’t see, doctor told her she’d be fine just cared about the next person he could charge

Been seeing Dr. Lane for about 5 years, he has done cataract surgery and now laser treatment. I still can't believe how I can see without glasses. He is compassionate, considerate and knowledgable. I would recommend him to everyone.

Dr Lane totally misdiagnosed my husband eye problems leaving us weeks of being uncomfortable until we reached out to another doctor . They are good doctors in this practice don’t use this one

Absolute worst doctor. I went to him because I was having difficulty reading,waited an hour for him to rush me out telling me that my eyes were fine. I expressed concern that I couldn't read without straining my eyes and it was better if I covered my left eye. He dismissed me and told me to go to the drug store and buy readers. After a year of eye strain snd headaches from readers another doctor confirmed that one eye was ok, the other was not so readers were absolutely not appropriate.

I just had cataract surgery with Dr Lane before the snow storm yesterday. Went for the follow up today - seeing 20/20 in the eye that had the surgery. PERFECT! Wonderful Doctor and staff in the Wantagh office.

THE BEST, CALMEST, KNOWLEDGEABLE, PATIENT FRIENDLY

I was sent to Dr. Lane when shingles posed a threat to my cornea. Dr. Lane has followed me every step of the way. I have absolute confidence in his diagnostic abilities. He is extremely honest. Office wait time can be variable.

Dr. Lane performed Laser Cataract Surgery in both of my eyes and I am extremely satisfied with the results and the procedure. He was attentive and informative throughout. The office staff were very helpful and efficient as well as pleasant. I can highly recommend Dr. Howard A. Lane and South Shore Eye Care!

I Have been going to South Shore Eye Care for well over 5 years. I have dealt with 3 of the Dr's there but finally settled in on Dr. Lane. They are all good but he in my opinion is the icing on the cake. He has done nothing but help me out and now sees my wife, father, and uncle. The past year I have experienced a very aggressive eye infection that he has cared for and fortunately cured. He has a Great bedside manner, and spent the time to help me find affordable medication options as needed
