It's odd to me that Dr. Holt's ratings are either a 1 or a 5. I hope that he looks at that because it's clearly problematic. I experienced qualities that would rate a 5, but overall my experience was a 1 because he became angry with me and talked to me in a way that I have never come close to experiencing from any other doctor. My very short relationship with him (1 visit and 1 phone call) ended with my feeling hurt and humiliated, and him being angry and frustrated. My sense is that he is a very good clinician whose decisions I would trust, if they were contextualized in healthy patient/provider relationship. But I wonder if the way he interacts with patients depends on whether or not they fit the mold of what he sees as a "good patient." Apparently, I do not.

Dr. Holt has been my rheumatologist for approximately 20 years. I have never had to wait long, and I never feel rushed. He listens and remembers my previous complaints and asks if they are better, same, or worse. I have now been diagnosed with a lung disease and he helps stay on top of it. He recently noticed a big difference in several areas in my bloodwork that could be due to my lungs. I took his advice and the last bloodwork showed improvement. He is patient and kind. I highly recommend him and this office.

He is pompous and rude. I was diagnosed with a very rare disease earlier in the year. I think I can sum up the type of physician he is. On the fourth visit, I was accompanied by my sister, because of COVID-19 she was in the waiting room, (With mask and gloves), when I asked if she could come back, he said, “ I’m not gonna spend another 30 minutes explaining your situation“. I responded “I don’t think that’s a very good way to start an appointment.” He responded with “Would you like to sever this relationship?” “ I think I’ve gone above and beyond with you“. My sister comes to the door at that point, and oh how his attitude and tone changed. I can give him one complement he does no appropriate tapering of high-dose steroids. Good job. He is awful, I know him through his business and also outside of his practice. Beware.

Dr H. is the most arrogant doctor I’ve ever known. I honestly don’t know why he practices medicine. His staff is also rude. I would not walk but run from this practice!!

Dr Holt is always friendly, informative and helpful. He listens to me and doesn't make me feel like I'm imagining my pain like other rheumys have in the past. I'm grateful that I found Dr Holt and will always recommend him to anyone needing a rheumatologist.

I would never recommend anyone to Dr. Holt. He dismisses your problems and is unfriendly. His staff is terrible as well. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a doctors office. I was practically scolded when I showed up at my appointment time, but not early because I had car trouble, which I called and notified them of.

Excellent beside manner. He really cares about us patients and he takes out the time to explain things to you. He also tries to find resources to help lower the cost of your prescriptions.

Pompous, arrogant and did absolutely nothing to help me. The whole staff is just unprofessional and rude. Dr. Holt will simply laugh in your face if you attempt to ask any questions or see anyone else, he will throw a fit and tell you that you are not welcome in his office. I've never in my life seen a worse doctor.
