Dr. Ifzal Bangash, MD

I saw him for the first time three months ago, and had to argue with him about the wrong information in my chart. He was insisting that I had a mastectomy when I had a myomectomy. I would know if I had a mastectomy.I am a therapist, and the state of Illinois requires that I report my last doctors visit which was three months ago. According to him, that’s not recent, even though my next appointment isn’t for another three months. He simply has to fill out the form and check a couple boxes that would indicate that me sitting in a chair working with some children not all children as a therapist is not a health risk to me, or to a child. He will only do it if I come in for a visit when I live five hours away, and I am no longer his patient. The man is a control freak and has absolutely no bedside manner. He wants me to drive five hours north for an examination to sit in a chair and counsel children. He is literally holding me hostage from having an income. Completely unreasonable.

My husband and I have been seen by Dr Bangash for a few years. He is always friendly and takes the time to answer questions. In addition he asks us all the right questions so he can provide good explanations and insights. His observations and recommendations are thorough accurate and aimed at keeping us well.

Terrible bedside manner. Made me feel very uncomfortable first time meeting him.

I would say as long as you don't mind waiting and don't question he or his staff you should do just fine. Don't expect an explanation when medication is prescribed as he doesn't like that. Good Luck

After a year and a half of seing this dr, finally determining correct medications and successful dosages after 5 years of trials for anxiety, he decided he no longer agreed with my meds. with no warning said i could not have few months to research the new medication but that if i didn't accept it we would LITERALLY "have a problem", no longer approving refills. I felt like i was in hostage situation. After reluctantly agreeing he stormed out like a child. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS "DOCTOR" EVER

Dr. Bangash takes his time, listens and is very caring.
