This is the Dr you’ve been looking for
Dr Ahmed, to put it frankly, saved my life. For 4 years, hospital after hospital, tests and tests nothing made a difference and the VA never sent me to an pulmonologist. Then they finally authorized it. After my first visit my symptoms mostly went away. By the second, they were gone and have not come back. He explains things, is patient and communication is easy with he and his staff between visits. I had asthma so bad that inhaling my rescue inhaler was difficult, sometimes impossible. That condition is under control and I have confidence it will stay that way while under his care. I am grateful to Dr Ahmed and his staff.

Doctor is not very personable at all. Told me my lungs sounded awful. Really? No doctor in all my life ever said that. X-rays were clear so what was the problem? I needed CPAP machine. He uses a DME out of CA that ships out of AZ when there is a DME minutes away in Ft. Myers. Lots of issues with that DME. Office staff were complaining about a woman on the phone that was on hold. They don't return calls. I didn't know their office in Lehigh was only open on Mondays so I left several messages. They had 3 Mondays to call me back before I went in to sign a release. Then I found out the number rings at both offices so why wasn't my call to schedule a follow up ever returned? I had to go pick up my own records because my new doctor said his office is known for not transferring records upon their request. (even with a signed release.) No one bothered to ask me why I was leaving (until the last time I stopped by) They don't care about you. Found out they are closing the Lehigh office. Good.

Dissapointed
I saw the doctor a year ago, and determined, after many test and procedures, I have a chronic respiratory disease. I am moving out of state and asked his office as a favor to have a refill until I find a new Doctor, as I have no more refills available. I asked this by email with no response from then. For this, subsequently after a week, I called their office. On the phone they told me that the only way to get this last refill is for me to make an appointment, because they have not seen me for over a year. When I asked to talk to the doctor to see if he can help as I will be out of state, the office clerk indicated the doctor does not answer phone calls. They offered a remote video conference, where symptoms cannot be checked. This is ridiculous. Basically not willing to help people, unless you pay them. They give the impression to have not interest in the well being of their patients, and only on their pockets. Disappointing customer service.

Doctor was pleasant and knowledgable but some staff members were rude. Office processes, scheduling in particular left a lot to be desired. Very disorganized. Any complaints were met with rude responses. They’re nice enough when things are running smoothly but lash out when they aren’t.

I was referred to Dr. Ahmad through Lee Health. He discovered that I had fluid on my right lung. I was admitted to Gulf Coast Hospital and had a chest tube put in. I was there for 11 days and Dr. Ahmad was there to see me every day. I highly recommend Dr. Ahmad. He is a kind and caring physician. His office staff is top notch. Thanks for caring.

I am from 9-11 I'm a first responder from when the World Trade Center was attacked. I have end-stage COPD very bad lung problems and dr. Ahmad is the only one that found out that clean eating my lungs every 3 to 4 months is keeping me going and making me live not a perfect life, but at least I could climb up the stairs now.

He ordered a series of tests - allergy, sleep study, pulminary, etc. When I went to see him, he indicated all was well and didn't review any of the results. Acted as if he didn't know they had even been run. It appears his sole interest is to generate traffic through his office with multiple office calls.

I arrived early for my 2:30 allergy appointment, went through the health assessment and was moved to the exam room at 2:30. All down hill from there! At 3:10 a nurse brought in two inhalers and told me these we recommended for me. When I asked who recommended them, she realize I had not been examined yet. About 20 minutes later, still no contact by the staff or Doctor, I went to the reception counter and told them I was leaving since I waited for an hour nobody had started a exam. Not sure if the problem was the utter chaos of the office staff, or just poor training. My time is important and I find that kind of wait with no contact or explanation from the staff unacceptable.

I was referred to Dr Ahmad for a follow-up from a biopsy. He was disinterested in the results and instead ordered more unrelated tests which would have led to 4-5 more office visits. I completed the additional C/T and labs. When I called the office to cancel the PFT, they told me he would not see me unless I completed the all tests he ordered. They canceled further appointments. Then I called back to get the results of the labs and they refused to give them to me unless I made an appointment, which they had just told me he would not see me unless I did all the tests. Seems like they want to keep you on a string . I'm going to someone else who doesn't strong arm you into lining their pockets and filing a complaint per Medicare instructions.

Dissatisfied Patient – Aug 01, 2019
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Ahmad?
The doctor charged Medicare $525 for “an average 45 minute” consultation. In reality, however, he cut me short when I tried to give him a full picture of my problem and seemed disinterested. The codes for the lab work were incorrect. Three attempts by the lab company and myself to correct this were unsuccessful.

I was in Fort Myers on business and had an issue with my breathing. When I called to see if there was any chance they could see me to make sure it wasn't something serious, Receptionist was extremely comforting and got me an appointment the following day. Everyone was warm and welcoming, the office is clean, modern and professional. Dr Ahmad and his staff treated me like I was one of their regular patients and gave me excellent care. Thank you!
