Dr. Ioanna Kanellitsas, MD

Back around July 2024 I scheduled an appointment to talk with her about getting a D&C done after I miscarried in the beginning of June and somewhat in beginning of July. I suffer from PCOS and been trying for almost 9 years to get pregnant. When I knew I was, I tested but always got a negative. So when June came and I had found these large purplish clots (bigger than a blood clot when I don't have clots like that). I waited another month and still had them. It wasn't normal so I called the office on Franklin and got referred to the office on Scalp. I easily got scheduled but the day of my appointment I never felt so disrespected. She told me the large purple clots were normal for PCOS and she told me they only do a d&c if you are pregnant. She supports abortion and I refuse to see a doctor that kills lives. Also the staff talks about you outside the room. They literally talked about me and one of the comments I remember was calling me crazy.

They way she treated me and didn't care

She is my current ob and I’ve never felt so disrespected in my life I’m gonna ask to switch my doctor bc omg. I told her I have issues with almost fainting and she told me that’s my fault for not doing what she said? She told me I need to drink water which I told her that’s all I drink even before being pregnant that’s all I’ve drank. She told me I need to stop bringing it up to anyone if I’m not gonna do anything about it but all she says is to drink water which I drink ALOT of and I told her that. Instead of her looking into it more she disregards my issues.

I really don’t understand how this woman still has a license… she disrespects and disregards what you want during your pregnancy and due to that I went into heart failure after I had my baby. She completely stripped me of valuable time with her due to her negligence and not listening when being told no. I would love to have another kid but my traumatic experience with them is horrific so called doctor I won’t.

I genuinely have no idea how this lady is a doctor, her bedside manner is the worst I have ever seen (I work in healthcare and I’ve seen a lot…) I have seen her twice for a routine on appointment due to my primary being out of office. Each time I have seen her I have been completely disgusted and practically in tears. She is completely unprofessional, she dismisses any concerns you have, she pushes unnecessary things onto you even when you say no, she will just keep asking over and over. If you want to feel disrespected in every aspect, this lady is for you! DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Waited an hour for her to come in and tell me the pain Im experiencing is in my head. Then she was more worried about other issues than my gynecologist needs. She should stick to what she specializes in and not worry about issues that are beyond her scope of practice.

I made an appointment because I am having problems and I was told by Dr. K that there is nothing wrong with me and everything is in my head. I asked her why do I have irritation, she said she sees nothing and she can't treat something she can't see. She did a swab test and left me lay on the table with the swab still inside and she told me not to move. Instead of looking under the microscope, she said she was sending it out because she knows it will be negative. She said it will take a week for results. I ask if there is anything I can do for the irritation, like a compress or something and she said what can you do if nothing is there. This was absolutely the worst encounter I have ever had with a human being, Dr or not.

Dr Kanellitsas was kind and thorough. Highly recommend.

I have never had a doctor speak to me as inappropriately as Dr. K. I only came in for a check up that she recommended and expressed some side effects I was having. I was only asking to make sure it was normal, and she made me feel ashamed for expressing that I had them at all. She pretty much told me that other girls had it worse and I was fine. She made an already uncomfortable situation, a horrible experience. Not to mention, a friend who was next door could hear the entire conversation. She was also appalled by the way she spoke with me. This was after I waited undressed for an hour and 15 minutes. Stay away from this doctor is possible.

I have never been to a Dr. that made me feel so uncomfortable I actually left the appointment in tears, I had recently had an IUD put in and was having extreme side effects. My regular gyno wasn't available and she came in and blasted me without even reading my file, she reprimanded me in a nasty tone saying repeatedly that she didn't know why I was there or what my expectation was in being there. Worst experience I've ever had at a doctors office, I wouldn't recommend her at all
