Dr. Jacquelyn Perna, DO

Dr. Perna is very helpful and thorough. She takes a lot of time with me and is always through and helpful.

I continued to see her for a number of years because I convinced myself it was only once or twice a year. She was continually condescending and rude. Every time I tried to ask a question she would talk over me. Last time I saw her she told me I would need 2 appointments for my annual because I had “so much wrong with me.” She barely ever touched me in the years I went for a physical. Do not waste your time.

I don't know if I caught her on a particularly bad day, but she was rude and unprofessional. I would never go back.

I have been a patient for a longtime . She is a great doctor very kind , knowledgeable and caring! She has helped me through many diagnoses and get on the right track to finding help for recovery! I have been a patient of Dr. Perna since 2010. I left the Boston area for 3 years and came back in 2019. I live 25 miles away from Waltham yet I choose to make the drive to see her. She is a superb physician.

There is constant pressure to have expensive screenings and tests. Their billing/coding is awful. Last year they overbilled me $700 for what was an annual check up. This year they are trying to bill me for an office visit because of an "abnormal pap smear". Thing is, I did NOT have a pap smear. Always check your bills from them as they always seem to be looking for more revenue.

She is very friendly and thorough, but is very inflexible with scheduling. If for example you are scheduled for a physical, she says they don't have enough time allotted for anything outside of a routine physical. So you end up leaving without having asked everything you wanted to, but still end up getting a bill for a copay because it was somehow decided that you did indeed discuss things outside of a routine physical despite being told there wasn't time for that. That wouldn't be so bad if the office actually ran on time, but I have never waited less than a half hour. It was aggravating enough that I found a new doctor recently and won't be back.
