Dr. Liauw performed a total disc replacement on my lumbar spine, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The surgery was minimally invasive, and my recovery was much faster than I anticipated. His attention to detail and dedication to his patients are commendable!

Dr. Liauw treated my spinal stenosis with a minimally invasive laminotomy. I was amazed at how little pain I had post-surgery compared to what I expected. His entire team was supportive, and I felt like I was in the best hands. I highly recommend him for anyone with spine issues!

I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was terrified. Dr. Liauw's calm demeanor and extensive knowledge reassured me during a very difficult time. He performed a craniotomy that was minimally invasive, and my recovery was remarkably quick. I felt supported every step of the way, and I am forever grateful for his care.

From paralyzed to running
On 7/5/2018, I was sitting in a folding chair that broke and I fell down and my neck jolted back. 2 hours later, I was paralyzed from the chest down. Dr. Liauw was the on-call neurosurgeon at Saddleback Hospital and performed emergency surgery that evening. He removed the C6/C7 disc that had slammed into my spinal cord, and did a C5-T2 fusion. After 26 days in in-patient PT, I walked out with a walker. After 18 months, I plateaued but able to walk with a slight limp, and I got back to umpiring college baseball, and even snow skiing. I still have deficits, but those are all related to the spinal cord damage that occurred when the disc shot into my spinal cord. Without Dr. Liauw, I'm scared to think where I would be today.

Superb Neurosurgeon; deserves 10 stars
At age 88 and after nine months of excruciating sciatic pain following a previously failed, lower back surgery (L5-S1), Dr. Liauw rendered a second-opinion. I am impressed, for rather than relying solely on a radiologist's report, Dr. Liauw actually read interpreted the pertinent MRI. Dr. Liauw's surgery exceeded my wildest expectations, for now I have zero sciatic pain! Two nights in the hospital, then one day on a walker and cane, and now I am walking pain-free! How great to be alive! And Dr. Liauw also has a kind and caring staff. On top of that, he is a truly nice person. What better review can I give!

Savior
I realize that every situation that a person is in is owned by that person so it may not apply to everyone. I can tell you that I went to eight doctors before Dr. Liauw and not a single one of them had figured out what was hurting me. They all treated me with the same protocol , one after the other medication‘s injections epidurals, physical therapy more prescriptions and so on. I was at my last hope for certainty . I was desperate and was on the brink of going to the emergency room a couple times but held out for my visit with Dr. Liauw. He was my ninth doctor concerning my issue and he was the only one to take a deeper look into what might be troubling me. I’m not sure if it took him three minutes or 10 minutes, whatever it was it was more than any other doctor had done. Two weeks later I ended up having a multi level fusion surgery on my lumbar spine and the removal of a 1.5 cm herniation that everyone else had missed. Finally I am on the mend. I have Dr. Liao to thank for it!!!

Absolutely zero after care instructions.
On 6/12/22 I was in a motorcycle accident that left me with a compression fracture of my T5. I saw Dr. Liauw I think for maybe 5 minutes and he simply told me your going to be transported to Mission hospital in Mission Viejo and have a procedure called a Kyoplasty to repair the fractured vertebrae. I was on pain meds and pretty much put full faith into what I was being told. The only image of my injury I have seen to this day was from a photo taken of a computer monitor from a radiologists Iphone. About 2 weeks after the procedure I started having level 10 pain in my neck. On 9/6/22 I finally received a bill from him and now know how to contact him. I had zero aftercare and never saw Dr Liauw accept for the 5 to 10 minutes he spent with me in the ER. If I have had follow up visits he could have helped address the neck issue. But I went to another Dr. that was not familiar with my case or the procedure. He did his best to treat me but felt like he was dealing with another Dr.s problem.

Heaven sent!
Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was easy. From the first appointment to scheduling payments was something I dread like everyone else.... NOT HERE! EVERYTHING was easy!!! Dr. Liauw is knowledgeable, confident, and honest. He didn't try to promise me anything he couldn't deliver, and didn't try to upgrade me on a SINGLE THING. His and his staffs only priority was my health and happiness. THANK YOU!!!

My surgical nightmare with Jason Liauw, MD
Dr Liauw performed a T10 to L3 spine fusion on me Friday morning December 17 2021. That evening I could feel - and myself and others could HEAR the metal (called "instrumentation") moving around inside my back. Two days later on Sunday morning December 19 Dr Liauw performed an entire second surgery on me to fix the things that were not right the first time. He remarked that he needed to "tighten things up". I was discharged from the hospital three days after that. Five days after my discharge I called 911 in agony and was taken to the emergency room. After imaging it was determined that all of the metal Dr Liauw had installed in me was unattached inside my back. A different surgeon performed a THIRD surgery on me, corrected the problems, and I went home three days later. My recovery has been good and uneventful since then. Liauw operated TWICE and left me in a terrible state. A different surgeon did a seemingly perfect job. You decide for yourself if you want to trust him.

Surgery was performed at Saddleback Hospital in Laguna Hills, CA. in 2015 by Dr. Liauw on dics in my neck for persistent headaches and Titanium inserts were placed in my cervical spine and I haven't had a headache since. Every Neurologist (all 4), remarkes on his abilities and experience! I RECOMMEND HIM HIGHLY! He is 5 Star1

I had cervical spine surgery in 2019. It was a awful experience for me. During my follow ups, Dr. Liauw told me that 2 of my screws were lose and the way to correct that was with another surgery. I asked why they were lose and he said he didn’t want to cut me more so he did what he could. I never returned as I’m not going to get him paid again for a surgery he should have done correctly in the first place. It’s now been 2 1/2 years and I deal with pain daily. His PA was extremely rude. If you need spinal surgery, get a second opinion.

"Dr. Liauw and his staff are phenomenal! From start to finish, I felt taken care of. I am a 33 year old female and saw Dr. Liauw for a severe disc herniation in C5/C6. He was able to do an artificial disc replacement without a fusion, which helped tremendously with my healing/recovery time. I was quickly losing function of my right hand and had debilitating pain in my right arm and in my neck when I saw him. He was able to operate shortly after my initial appointment (huge thanks to Hella, his scheduling coordinator, for helping me speed up this process) and now I have full mobility in my neck, as well as feeling back in my right hand! His PA, Tayler, was there every step of the way to answer any questions (no matter how silly) and check in with me after the procedure (literally a God send). If you have a herniated disc that requires surgery, go see Dr. Liauw… he will take great care of you! I am so grateful to have my health and my life back thanks to his exceptional handiwork!

Dr. Liauw preformed a procedure on my lower back. Before the procedure my sciatica was giving me a lot of pain. Within 30 minutes of waking up after the procedure I was walking and almost completely out of pain. I want to thank Dr.Laiuw for changing my quality of life. I’m extremely happy with the outcome of the procedure. I’m currently enjoying my daily activities once again.

I recently underwent back surgery, which was performed by Dr. Liauw. I had been suffering for many years with lower back and leg pain. The pain became severe and unrelenting over the five months prior to seeing Dr. Liauw. He reviewed my MRI, identified the issue and immediately referred me for surgery. Dr. Liauw performed a laminectomy and removed a synovial cyst. I’m now 8 weeks post surgery and am feeling much better. The pain has subsided to mild discomfort, which Dr. Liauw thinks may disappear over time. I highly recommend the services of Dr. Liauw to anyone with similar issues as mine.

My lower back pain had been present for years but after fracturing my pelvis in a bicycle crash and hurting my back further in the ocean I knew I had to chill out and finally take care of it. As a 25-year-old I never really thought of surgery as an option and was hopeful for a recovery without it. I stopped all forms of physical activity and dedicated myself to recovery. I tried acupuncture, chiropractic care, decompression, soft tissue and epidural injections, and loads of physical therapy. Despite all these treatments my pain and quality of life were getting worse and worse. I could not sit, walk, or stand for more than 20 minutes without having the urge to lie down, but I was insistent on sticking to conservative treatments believing that through time I would heal.
