Dr. Jeff Shapiro, MD

He could not care less about his patients. His only loyalty is to the health insurance companies. AVOID at all costs.

He took care of me following a Total Knee Replacement at Foothill Hospital. He truly interested in how I was doing and ordered an ultrasound when it appeared that I had trouble urinating. Promptly solved the problem.

I wanted to leave a review of Dr Shapiro, so I found this site, but I’m honestly not sure the prior reviews have the right physician! Besides being a great doc, he’s passionate about giving patients and families wonderful care! In the last few years both my mother and mother-in-law have been hospitalized several times at Foothill Pres. I’m always so relieved if Dr Shapiro is our hospitalist. He gives us honest information and makes sure we have what we need to care for our elderly, medically complex parents. Dr Shapiro has also come back when I’ve thought of other questions (totally my fault!) and to speak to family members who came later in the day, plus he’s patient with multiple repetitive questions. Sometimes the news isn’t what you want, but that doesn’t change that it’s the true patient’s condition, so don’t shoot the messenger! I’m so grateful that he has the compassion needed to discus hard truths so we can make the decisions that are right for us as a family.

Dr Shapiro saved my life during my admission at Emanate Foothill Hospital in Glendora. I spent 3 weeks in ICU and another 2 weeks on second floor. In ICU, I don’t recall much, but my family was always there and they received daily updates from dr Shapiro. When they were not in my room, dr Shapiro called them for updates. Once I moved out of ICU, I got to know dr Shapiro better. He was always calm and reassuring. He gave me hope. Now, after almost 6 months, I am finally back to my normal life and I thank Dr Shapiro for it. I feel so blessed to have been under his care. Thank you, Doc!!!!

Dr. Shapiro took care of my dad when he was in the hospital. He always took the time to answer all of my questions and was incredibly knowledgable. He really cared and it showed. The nurses all commented on how lucky we were to have Dr. Shapiro as our doctor.

He lies to patients and to nurses. I will never let him in my room again

He is arrogant, always in a hurry, and does not disclose all results from tests. He doesn't listen. He is rude to nurses. He yells constantly. He does not get back to you when he says that he will.
