Failed to meet standard of care
Dr. Matheny performed a knee surgery on myself which was a work injury and when I went back for complications 2.5 years later he stated there is nothing wrong with me, refused 2 times to order a MRI stated I don't need it, lied in his documentation said he gave me a cortisone injection meanwhile the PA did and she had no documentation to follow that as well. went for a 2nd opinion 2 days later and assessment performed by different surgeon in different practice with completely different result as well as MRI ordered by other surgeon. MRI revealed my ACL Meniscus surgery performed by Dr Matheny failed and now I'm getting it done a 2nd time with new surgeon, bedside manner poor as well as failure to meet standard of care, be sure you can trust this man because I lost all faith in him as a human and surgeon. I will never recommend him.

Dr Metheny is an excellent knee surgeon. He is kind, understanding and and very compationate. He is so good at knee replacements that I hardly know I have one. I can walk, garden and even do zumba. I had my replacement at Jefferson Hospital and I had great care. He is the best!

Have been a patient for 5+ years. Dr. Matheny always listens and offers options to solve my concerns. GREAT surgeon, has fixed a rotator cuff and replaced a knee. Highly recommend!!

Dr. Matheny performed gave me a total knee replacement. He did a wonderful job. It has been 4 years since the surgery and I have absolutely no scar. My knee works great. I have full flexibility. If I ever need my other knee replaced, I will definitely call on Dr. Matheny to do the surgery.
