Dr. Jennifer Shade, MD

Since the doctor who performed my last cataract surgery who I loved left the practice, I was a little nervous about someone new. However, Dr. Shade was amazing! I highly recommend her for this type of procedure.

Dr. Jennifer M. Shade did the cataract surgery on my right eye and she did an excellent job. I am very happy with the results. I have 20/20 vision on my right eye now. Left eye is due in two weeks. I recommend Dr. Shade to anyone.

I have been going to Dr. Jennifer Shade for over the past two years because she did a corneal transplant on my right eye, then later the left one. She is an excellent eye doctor/eye surgeon. She is precise and knowledgeable, yet caring and explains everything in detail, terms that are easy to understand. She has made me feel comfortable and valued during this whole process. I highly recommend her!

I was referred to Dr. Shade by Dr.Hartel. Dr.Hartel told me that if he needed eye surgery he would use Dr. Shade. This is a tremendous recommendation. My cataract surgery went flawlessly. My treatment at the surgery center was excellent. They kept me informed every step of the way. The result is the best vision I have had in 10 years. Now I have gotten rid of my contact lenses and all the mess that goes with them.

I absolutely love Dr Shade and the technicians at Dayton Eye. I developed a rare eye condition that Dr. Shade diagnosed immediately. She did not hesitate to fight every step of the way for me to get the care I needed from other doctors. She called offices herself to get me treated urgently. She got me in urgently whenever I felt like my condition could be worsening. I owe my eyesight, and my health, to Dr. Shade. I tell everyone I know what a wonderful doctor she is. The only reason I'm leaving her practice is because I'm moving to a different state. The care I received was so excellent, I seriously considered driving 5.5 hours to see her in the future, but sadly it's just not feasible if my eye condition recurs as I'd need to see her daily. I actually got teary-eyed saying goodbye to Dr Shade this week during my last visit because I've never had a doctor as good as her.

I am very fortunate to have Dr. Shade treating my glaucoma! Unlike diabetes, which is a self managed disease, glaucoma is essentially totally physician managed. My only contribution is to rigidly follow the doctor’s instructions. I have confidence that Dr. Shade is a skilled and caring physician and is trying very hard to manage my specific case.
