This is a 5 Star Dr in every way possible. She goes way above and beyond for her patients. Highly recommended.

My 28 year old son was diagnosed with an internal rectal abscess in the ER, while on vacation in FL. Dr Velgos performed the surgery at the end of her already very long day and placed two drains that would stay in. We are thankful she performed the surgery, but we were not given adequate information on what to expect once we got home. It’s a miserably painful surgery & recovery with many possible complications. Dr Velgos was not thorough in her questioning and information collection post surgery before discharge. He also had sepsis yet nobody told us— we had to read it in the patient portal. He was readmitted 2 days after hospital discharge for serious complications identified in her own Wound Clinic and we had to wait in the ER for hours with him in extreme pain, like we’d never been there before. Dr Velgos did pop in, offered a quick suggestion, said he needed a transfer and was gone. Very business like, always hurried, no personal connection. Very disappointing.
