Great Doctor and team
I had severe back pain. Had p/t, pain injections, prescription drugs and none worked. Finally my family doctor got me an appt. With Doctor Stone. After scheduling x-rays, ct scans and reviewing past treatments, Doctor Stone recommended surgery. He and his team explained what I needed. I got second opinion from AHN Doctor and realized Doctor Stone was correct. Surgery was scheduled and done. I won’t lie, there was after surgery pain, but Doctor Stone had warned me about it. Partly due to how severe my condition was. Its been a little over 2 months since surgery and I feel so much better. Healing is still happening and will continue. From day one Doctor Stone and his team explained my condition and how he would correct it. I am so grateful to him and UPMC Hamot for making my life so much better.

Carotid Artery Surgery
It’s been 5 weeks since Dr. Stone removed plaque build up from my left carotid artery. Had several questions, sent him a message well before scheduling surgery asking him to rate 0 to 10 the likelihood of temporary to permanent nerve injuries etc. from this surgery. In the interim, began a search for a second opinion. Wasn’t certain I’d receive his response but nine days later received his 2 ½ page response to all my questions and concerns. I was truly overwhelmed. His response was detailed, descriptive, very caring and patient oriented. From that point, he would be my surgeon, ceased efforts for a second opinion and couldn’t be happier with Dr. Stone, his team and all those who cared for me at Erie UPMC Hamot Hospital. Dr. Stone is definitely 5 Stars as well as his team - Thank You! For the curious, have a 2 ½ raised incision – obscured somewhat by my “vanity beard” but both should subside and almost disappear in the future. June 24, 2022

Dr. Stone changed my mind about surgeons. He genuinely cared about my symptoms and asked how they affected my life. I felt like he put a lot of thought into how to best care for me. He ended up recommending against surgery and instead sent me for a very specific course of physical therapy and injections that completely relieved my pain. He is not the typical surgeon that just wants to cut patients and I am so happy he was able to help me without the need for surgery.

Dr. Stone sat down, really listened to me, actually examined me thoroughly, and recommended a minimally invasive surgery that took away my severe pain. Now, I can sit on the floor and play with my grandkids. I could not be more happy with the care he and his office staff gave me. I am grateful my primary doctor sent me to him and only wish I would have seen him sooner! Many many thanks Dr. Stone!
