Rigid bedside manner/ Great clinical skills
My experience with Dr. Schlacter started in the 90's. Not for pregnancy but for PCOS, endometriosis, and ultimately a referral to neuroendocrinology. His manner has always been, in my opinion, rigid, abrupt, somewhat condescending. Not what your looking for when it comes to experiencing childbirth, I agree. However, his clinical skills I would rate on their own. He is knowledgeable in many areas. I have been very successful following his recommendations in the past. Even now, 25 years later, I've chosen to see him for a second opinion in my gyn care.

Traumatic experience
Dr. Schlachter did my emergency C section with my daughter. though I am grateful to have a happy and healthy little girl, the experience was made very traumatic by him. My nurse and midwife team were amazing, my midwife was in the middle of giving me an amnioinfusion when I was asked if Dr. Schlachter could come in. I ofcourse said yes, the first thing out of his mouth was "c section now". My midwife had mentioned that this could be a possibility but we weren't there yet. I felt as though he stepped on the rest of the medical team and gave zero explanation, didn't even introduce himself. My husband had to stand over my bed and ask for an explanation I was so in shock. His bedside manner was atrocious and I have a feeling the other medical staff isn't his biggest fan either if this is how he treats them on a regular. I hope he makes an effort to treat the other staff as his team in the future and does better to treat his patients like human beings.

Horrible bedside manner. I had to have a c section after three days of labor. I was tired, scared, and traumatized. He made me feel very uncomfortable. Was short and didn't really talk to me. When they rolled me into the OR they were playing Journey and didn't even ask me if that was okay. Made me so uncomfortable. I was shaking scared and so glad that my anesthesiologist was there to help me. I really wish he wasn't the one to hold my daughter first. My husband usually tells me I am too critical of people but he said that he did not like this man and that he made him uncomfortable

Horrible bedside manner and generally a creep. More than anything I wish he had never touched me. The horrific experience will be with me for life, as many other women have noted.

Great beside manners and always makes me feel very comfortable.

I was a little nervous at first, to see a male doctor but Dr. Schlacter has been wonderful. He's quiet but warm and friendly and so worthy of the trust from me and my family.

Diagnosed a miscarriage OVER THE PHONE and refused to see me saying “coming into the office won’t change anything”. I wasn’t asking him to change anything... I was asking for medical proof that I lost my child. This was in my 9th week of pregnancy. I went to the ER cause my gut told me I needed to be checked. My baby was completely ok. Now I’m 36 weeks and scheduled to deliver next week. DO NOT TRUST THIS DOCTOR.
