A treasure!
I've been seeing Dr. Schoonmaker (as has my elderly mother) for many years. She's a wise, compassionate, and attentive physician with excellent listening skills and a kind and gentle demeanor, flexible in her recommendations of treatment options and always remaining respectful to the patient. On several occasions she's given me answers for my chronic pain and osteoarthritis-related issues that specialists in those fields haven't been able to provide. She truly cares about her patients, and anyone who is fortunate enough to have her as their primary care doctor is truly blessed. She is, without question, a treasure, and I'm so grateful for her!

difficult to see her always passed off to someone else who didn't care about what I was requesting. refused to prescribe simple things to alleviate pain. After telling dr I had taken 8 advil and 2 alieve in a 24 hour period to get relief the drs solution was to tell me to take 2 alieve and see someone else. SO I DID!!! and he was disgusted to hear that along with why I was sent to see him as he felt I should have gone to a rheumatoid dr.
