Dr. Joanna Tierney, MD

Worst Dr. I have ever been to. Poor communication and attitude. Apparently she does not like her Job.

Dr Tierney is friendly, kind, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She always spends the necessity time to listen to me and make the necessary recommendations.

Inconsiderate, doesn’t listen to you and makes you feel stupid. Very judgmental feeling. Definitely do not recommend if you want to feel like a looser!

I first met Dr. Tierney as a new patient, having recently moved to Utah. Her staff was professional and friendly, and Dr. Tierney spent considerable time with me, reviewing my health history and getting acquainted personally. She was terrific and I look forward to a trusting relationship in years to come.

I want to make a fair review that can help others make informed decisions when selecting a doctor. This negative rating was driven by Dr Tierney's poor communications and overall attitude about my physical well being I did not care for the treatment I received from Dr Tierney. Dr. Joanna Tierney was indifferent, uncaring, I warn others to steer clear. Dr. Joanna Tierney has all the warning signs of a unconcerned doctor to include her bad attitude, being consistent, cold, rude, and dismissive of my concerns. She was not warm, interested, or engaged. She did not make me feel comfortable, and was offended when I asked questions and told me I was dismissed. Have found a new physicians, outside of Lone Peak Family Health, and will not be going back to Dr Tierney.

As a new patient with Dr Tierney, I was so impressed with her. She was personable, kind, thorough, and very professional. I am an RN and have had lots of experiences with many doctors and I would recommend Dr Tierney without reservation.

It was my annual well-check. It was rushed and she sent out a bunch of referrals. When I received the appointment summary it talked about my lungs sounding clear, and my digestive track was clear, and others, but she never looked in my ears or throat nor did she listen to my heart or lungs. I got blood results back with 'red warnings' but I have not received a follow-up. The three-star review is because when I first met her, it was an urgent visit and my primary was unavailable. She did amazing. The last three appointments have been not that impressive.

I, too, am perplexed by the negative reviews. I think until you get to know Dr. Tierney, she can come across as abrupt and not caring, but I believe she really does. I credit her with saving my life--I had been to several doctors, and not one of them could figure out what was wrong. Dr. Tierney finally figured it out, which was that I had a rare cancer. Even an oncologist didn't pick up on it, so if I have to choose between bedside manner or her ability as a doctor, I will choose her ability as a doctor.

I don’t understand how she even became a doctor or how anyone would hire her. She is the rudest person I’ve ever come in contact with. If there was a way to give zero stars, I would. She is so condescending and disrespectful, and will let you know that you’re a waste of her time. She should NOT be working in healthcare because she certainly does not care about you.

I met Dr Tierney at the first of the year when she was new to alone Peak Family Health for my annual check up. She seemed kind and caring so I referred my sister to her. I accompanied my sister to her appointment with Dr. Tierney and was in the room with her for the office appointment. I was immediately regretful and so embarrassed that I referred my sister. She was very rude, showed no compassion or empathy, and acted like we were wasting HER time. We have both found new physicians, outside of Lone Peak Family Health, and will not be going back to Dr Tierney.

Worst experience I've ever had with a PCP. She is condescending, lacks compassion and cut me off as I was explaining while I was there. Didn't have any interest in discussing results from Lab work. I wouldn't let her treat me for a hangnail. As she was berating me I got a text asking to review my visit. I should have showed it to her at the time she was scolding me and asked her how I should rate my experience.

She is incredible! I was very comfortable and able to get all my concerns across. She was very patient and talked me through everything. I don't know what all these other reviews are about but i experienced nothing negative at all. She's great! Don't let some reviews on here fool you.

Worst experience with a doctor ever! She shows little interest, cuts you off when you ask questions, condescending and hurried. This is based on several appointments. I kept hoping it would improve, but no.

I am not sure what that other reviewer is talking about and I needed to add my review to the pile! I was a patient of hers when she was at IHC's Alta View Clinic. Now, I can't speak to the staffing support at Lone Peak Family Health, but I can tell you that she was great doctor to me. She cares, is professional, takes the amount of time that she ought to in an appointment, isn't afraid to ask difficult questions, or get physical with the exam if she needs to. Just for one example: Tierney found out I had diabetes via blood tests and she personally called me the next day. What more could you want? Book with her, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Worst. Avoid! Doesn't care about patient. Makes the most awkward comments.
