Dr. Jodie Labowitz, MD

Everything I have asked her about is never silly or unimportant. My family has a tendency to have pancreatic cancer so every time one of my sibling are diagnosed I immediately go to Dr. Labowitz and she always does whatever it takes to calm me. The last time I went after a sibling was diagnosed she ordered a MRI to calm me and thank God she did. She saw some that needed a closer look in my lower right quadrant and thanks to her 2 fatty tumors were found and taken out. Could’ve been cancer but both were benign. Dr. Labowitz is my hero.

On the day of my Colonoscopy, she came in 1 hour late and started to talk down to me. I saw her a year before, scheduled the Colonoscopy. I later cancelled the appointment and decided to do the Cologuard test. It came back positive, then I decided to move forward with the Colonoscopy. She was mad, talking to me like a child, raising her voice, saying I should have had Lab work done (you need an Order for Labs) I was not given one. She walked out and at that time I was ready to pull out my IV and walk out. They came right in to get me, so I decided to go ahead and have this done since I had been up all night preparing for this. Then I will walk away. This is Unacceptable behavior from Dr. Labowitz. I am a grown woman, I make my own decisions and I don't appreciate the way I was treated. Moving on to a new Doctor.

While there was a bit of a wait; Dr. Labowitz took her time with me, listened to my concerns and ordered appropriate tests. I would go back to Dr. Labowitz.

Professional, courteous, and synchronized. The appointment ran like clockwork. Office staff had me well prepared. Although I didn't want to get a colonoscopy, it was time, and I was comfortable.

The availability of these offices was exceptional. The facility on Thunderbird on the day of the procedure was better than any hospital.

As a new patient, I was told it was going to be 4 months before she could schedule an appointment. I was asked to be put on a cancellation list and got in a few weeks later. However, I was not even taken back to the exam room until 1 hour and 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment despite being told she runs on time. The staff kept telling me 5 minutes more after waiting 30 minutes. Her medical assistant was rude in her responses and dismissed all my concerns. Dr. Labowitz seemed rushed, but finally slowed down when I got teary (something that should not happen). It was only then I felt compassion. She slowed down and started to address concerns and was reassuring. The medical assistant continued to be rude after the exam at checkout.

Dr. Labowitz is very personable and attentive. Don’t be shy… tell her everything. I highly recommend her. Wish ALL my doctors were as nice.

While you will be forced to sign a paper that says that you have to cancel within 48 hours, or pay a fee. It's actually 48 hours from the day of your appointment, not the time. So if your appointment is at 4 pm and you call at 9 am it’s too late and your charged a fee. They certainly don't tell you that. They will charge you $50, and then refuse to reschedule you if you happen to be a professional with a job and cannot make the appointment in the middle of the day. Horrible staff.

My first appointment went very well. She asked all the right questions. Understands my problems and gave me great advice. She makes her patient feel comfortable. She took her time with me. Has great credentials and experience.

I waited months for an appointment. Seems she has too many patients to adequately see them in a timely manner. Unable to schedule with another physician within the group. Front office staff not friendly nor helpful. Anesthesiologist was unfriendly; had me sign permit with a red pen after he left..did not observe my signing nor did any nurse.

Initial visit included my history and previous results from earlier colonoscopies. Thorough and pleasant. Colonoscopy Itself was on time and no complications. Staff friendly and efficient.

Warning: THIS PRACTICE BELIEVES THAT PATIENTS ARE THE PROPERTY OF ANY DOCTOR WITH WHOM THEY HAVE CONSULTED. I am a patient who is at high risk for colon cancer due to family history and a genetic mutation. I attempted to make an appointment with this practice as I am due for a colonoscopy. They asked me if I have seen another gastrointestinal dr. in Arizona. I had done a consultation with another doctor nearly two years prior and had declined to pursue treatment with her. No exam. No procedure. Just a consultation. But Dr. Labowitz's practice considers any patient who has done a consultation with another doctor, up to three years prior, to have "established care" and says that they don't "steal" other doctors' patients! The scheduler also said that if a patient declines to disclose a prior consultation and they "find out", they will cancel your procedure. Not kidding. This pratice isn't alone in this attack on patient autonomy, but know this before choosing them.

My experiences with Dr. Labowitz and her staff, have always been pleasant. There have been a couple of times when she was running a bit late because she spent a little extra time with her last patient. I didn't mind because I knew if I needed extra time, Dr. Labowitz would give me the same courtesy. I am very happy with Dr. Labowitz and her staff. I wouldn't even think of seeing anyone else!

I've had 2 colonoscopies with Dr. Labowitz and everything has always gone smooth. She has a great bedside manner, is very thorough and professional. I felt at ease. I received my results the next day. I highly recommend her!
