Dr. John Houde, MD

Dr. Houde did a TKR, Total Knee Replacement, in June 2020 assuring me that even during Covid I would receive the best possible care. One year later I was still having pain issues, I was told it would take a while and I needed to be patient. A year and a half later, an appointment with PA at DH was told to manage my expectations. Two years later I discovered from X-rays that the TKR is at a 15-degree angle, and my surgery leg is now three quarter inch longer than the non-surgery leg. Notation on my chart was probably non-valgus pre-surgery. I am part of the 5 percent not happy with TKR, thanks to my doctor and my crooked implant, longer leg I am still in pain. This is what they don't tell you.

A year ago, suffering from severe, debilitating hip pain, I was operated on by Dr. Houde. For complex reasons, we were not sure what he would find when he actually opened me up. What he did was improvised on the spot, an absolutely virtuoso surgery. Now, a year later, I am totally back to normal, hiking, swimming, and snowshoeing. I never even think about the hip any more.

Can't say enough satisfaction, saw Dr. on one day, surgery the following day. The Dr. was very congenial, gave me all the time I needed to answer questions. Highly recommend Dr. Houde.

Very laid back. Felt really comfortable in the office. Saw the Doc for a ruptured Achilles tendon on a Wed. He had me get an MRI the next day. Pre-op visit the same Friday. Surgery the following Monday. Was back on my feet in no time. an't say enough good things about him. John

Very caring DR, Listens to you and answers any questions or concerns you have with ease. He doesn't make you feel like your being rushed. Takes time with you.
