Dr. Jonathan Calkwood, MD

He gave me too much Bo in my legs and then took me off bac coldturkey. I went through severe bac withdrawl- panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, insomnia. Worst weeks of my life. He is also all about money from kickbacks

The first visit, we waited an hour. That felt like a payoff since he identified problems other neuros hadn't. We were told by his staff to plan for delays . The second visit, after MRIs, I was looking forward to results. We waited two hours to get in. When he did come in, it was to tell us he would be right back. So we waited. I completed a 2.5-page doc about my questions. But when we truly started the appt., he started in on my chart going back eight years! He started looking for test results he had already covered in the first appointment--but then couldn't find them and started quizzing me on them. I was dx'd with MS via a messenger system and this included the appropriate medical code. Dr. Calkwood stated he could not give me this dx--even though he was quoted as saying: "I agree with a diagnosis of MS." We left after telling him he was ill-prepared and had no idea what he was talking about. He yelled at us as we walked out the door. It was so late, the building had closed down.

Dr. Calkwood spends the time you need to discuss your concerns. He was the first Neurologist that took the time to talk about the different MS drugs, Dr. Calkwood and his staff are helpful and friendly.

Dr. Calkwood is brilliant, he knows MS and treatment options, and is friendly and caring although a bit of an absent-minded professor. His PA, on the other hand, is condescending and talks like I'm a 2 year-old while his NA often has difficulty with English.

He's smart but obviously busy.
