Great doctor, horrible PA
I have always had a good experience with doctors at Inova. Doctors' Stinger, Hamilton, and Giuliani are top notch and I highly recommend them. They treat patients with respect, courtesy and with all my experiences, short waiting times both in the waiting room and examining room.Although I respect Dr. Campbell, I would not recommend his practice because in my experiences because they fall far short of the other doctors' that I mentioned above. His PA Kathryn (Kate) E. Stewart is the main reason for this because we have never seen eye to eye on anything. I find her to be immature, unprofessional and lacks compassion that one would expect from a Physician's Assistant. My interactions with her are completely opposite of how I have been treated by other PA's. I think she needs a few Masterclasses on Best Practices as it could only improve her poor attitude.I reached out to Patient Services, but as expected, three weeks later, no contact. I hope they do, but not expecting anything.

Never recommend
I was 3 weeks away from hip replacement surgery when I was informed that I would need cardiac clearance because I had had a heart procedure several years back to close a hole in my heart. That was successful, and I needed no further cardiology follow up. Nevertheless, I was informed that without this unnecessary clearance, I could not have hip surgery. Find a different surgeon with much better communication skills and a far superior nurse coordinator (a major 'witch').

I didn't have a lot of trust with the P.A, and Dr. Campbell didn't do a good job because my knee is still f&@/ed up. I tried going back but Dr. Campbell had left the practice. So now, a new doctor!

I went to him for a 2nd opinion about hip surgery and he was very clear and helpful to me in terms of understanding the procedure (he drew pictures) and risks. He was also very respectful of the 1st doctor I had seen, and yet was able to communicate their differences. I wish I had gone to him first.

Dr Campbell is the only surgeon in the area who does hip arthroscopy for torn labrum. He is very professional and took time to listen to my concerns. My surgery went very well and I now feel great! I highly recommend Dr Campbell.

I contacted Orthopaedic Specialties in order to begin the process of determining why my total knee replacement, done at another practice a little over a year before, was causing me more pain than before surgery and with limited movement. Dr. Campbell very thoroughly explored all possibilities and eventually determined a total knee replacement revision would be required to correct the problems. The surgery itself and the results thus far have greatly exceeded my expectations.
