Arrogant physician
Dr. Benitez is an arrogant man with little compassion for his patients. He would ask my husband a question anbout my 91 year old father in law and interrupt him before my husband could finish answering. He was blatantly rude and uncaring. Should not be working with people period. Choose another physician! We have never been treated this poorly by another doctor.

An awful dr
I almost died. I went in this spring for a chronic condition, he did an upper and lower scope and felt that I “looked too good” for a biopsy. The records that I looked at later said I am over 50 with anxiety and it is a gut/brain issue. He prescribed me anti anxiety meds. I do not have an anxiety, but I trusted him and took it. Thankfully I did not take the medication that he prescribed for gerd which would cause lupus or make lupus worse, which I have. He told me to take it and not believe everything I read online, even though it came from a very well known source. About a month and a half later I started getting worse. It kept up and I almost died in September. I had c dif, campylobacter, and colitis (which I had asked him to look for in the first place). I literally was almost dead. A very good doctor prescribed me a medication until I could get into see another gastrointestinal doctor.

Worst ever. He deserves 0 stars.
The worst. He's insulting, vague, didn't read anything in my chart. Looked at the one test result he was in charge of & said I was fine. I should just eat & go home, even though I couldn't eat. Can't believe I have to pay for his 1 minute of time & complete lack of concern or advice. Completely worthless, especially if you're a woman. You should "just go eat."

This is perhaps unfair because it is my second review on here but I keep thinking back on my experience with Dr. Benitez with frustration. Dr. Benitez, a GI specialist, tried to pin me with anxiety and eventually IBS despite my description of symptoms that appeared after a major bowel surgery. My new doctor has been able to identify intestinal ischemia and we are finally moving towards treatment that has been delayed thanks to this wild goose chase that started 4 years ago with Dr. Benitez. I still remember him telling me condescendingly what a small bowel obstruction would feel like (you'd look 9 months pregnant!) despite the fact I had experienced multiple in the recent past. In general, women take longer to get diagnosed so I highly recommend you find a doctor that will at least listen to your thoughts right away.

Wonderful experience. Dr Benitez explained and addressed all of my concerns. Office staff is friendly and always willing to help. Plus, the wait time is nothing compared to other specialist office I have been too. Highly recommend

Prescribed a colonoscopy prep kit for $75 copay. Pharmacist told me most others are charged $10. Did someone take you out to dinner Mr. Benitez? His office on Park West was deserted... I should have recognized this as a sign and asked my primary provider for a different recommendation.

He walked into the room with a rehearsed speech that had nothing to do with my condition. He listened to absolutely nothing I said. After my endoscopy with him, when I asked a question about a condition that he wrote on the chart that he said I had, he mocked me for asking and then walked out of the room.

He was the Dr assigned to me while I was at Parkwest Hospital. Not one that I was able to research myself prior to seeing him. RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, UNPROFESSIONAL. Wouldn't listen to me or my concerns or explain the details of my GI test. Got way off track and focused on a medication that I take for asthma (prescribed by my pulmonologist). He told me repeatedly I did not need to take it. I did not see him in his office or interact with his staff.
