The Worst!
This doctor corresponds only with other doctors, not a patient. He read my blood work wrong and notified my PCP that everything was ok and there were many results that were too low or too high and needed immediate attention and he didn't do anything about it. He didn't even call me the patient but instead sent a note to my PCP. Why is he afraid to deal with the patient like a professional should? Don't go to this doctor because he doesn't read the results correctly and is keeping a patient from getting the care they need.

Dr. Shaya is an excellent person and doctor. He explains treatments and due to his high quality of care, at stage 4, I am having a excellent quality of life. I was seen by this doctor at the VA hospital in La Jolla. He is Superior in care, treatment, communication and care of his patients. He fights for his patients and uses technology to research the newest medical innovations to give a high quality of care that is not found often in modern healthcare. Dr. Shaya is constantly improving his knowledge of the latest break through in cancer care and the management of disease progression. I feel so blessed to have this doctor fighting for me.

I cannot sing praises for Dr. Shaya loudly enough, he turned what was a somber and distressing Oncology appointment into a day filled with hope and a plan. He spent a superior amount of time discussing the cancer treatment options available to us and was very thoughtful in decreasing our exposure to others during the COVID-19 situation. He wrote a personable email after our appointment and scheduled a video with us so that we didn’t need to leave the house. Additionally, I was more than impressed to see him taking copious notes electronically during the appointment all of which he was willing to share electronically. Dr. Shaya is knowledgeable as well as passionate for both medicine and caring for his patients. I enthusiastically recommend him. Thank you, Dr. Shaya, you give the precious gift of hope to so many and with that put beauty into the world.
