Superb physician. Kind and caring.
The reception area is warm and inviting. Given his specialty, I think this important as it alleviates, somewhat, the stress. The nurse took me to the exam room, and shortly thereafter the good doctor came in and introduced himself. Dr. Beiermeister asked me what was wrong, he listened patiently while I did my best to explain the issue, and he then did a thorough exam based on what I told him. Following the exam, he again patiently answered my myriad questions. I never felt rushed, and I felt he really cared about me as a person and getting me back to good health. Unfortunately, the diagnosis required surgery. On the morning of the surgery, Dr Beiermeister came into my room and did everything he could to calm my nerves. His bedside manner is without peer. Following surgery he again came to visit me to tell me what would happen next. I hate that I am having to go through this, but it would be unbearable without this good and kind doctor beside me.

I trusted Dr. Breiermeister with what has been the most difficult physical issue I've ever endured. I was very hesitant to see Dr. Breiermeister after my first phone call with his front desk secretary Susan. She giggled and questioned why I was on disability for my condition which I felt was completely unprofessional. I underwent surgery and I've continued to have rectal bleeding, bloating, abdominal pain and I chose not to have another very painful surgery. I was told I was lying about my pain.

Went to see a colorectal surgeon for the first time 4 years ago... it was Dr Beirmeister. He examined me and with guidance from his coworker, Dr Worsey he proceeded with banding. I had no idea what he was doing and I almost passed out after the procedure. I wasn't even told to bring someone with me! Then, I immediately had the worst pain in my life... I had developed an external theombossed hemorrhoid problem as a result of this pressure. There was no accountability and today I suffer daily.

He was the on-call doc who operated on my elderly mother. She developed significant FIVE incisional hernias following her surgery. When she returned to ask him about the 5 bulging abdominal hernias that resulted from her surgery - he shrugged his shoulders saying he didn't know what to make of them. I took her to another Scripps gastro who we are very satisfied with. His lack of empathy or genuine interest in the outcome of his work is very, very troubling.

Dr. Beiermeister is an excellent surgeon. Due to my age and health issues the colectomy he performed on me was difficult. Dr. Beiermeister performed the surgery and managed my recovery fabulously. He took the time to answer all my questions before and after the procedure and checked on me regularly while I was in the hospital. He is a very patient person and knowledgeable doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Beiermeister.
