Dr. Sigman did a procedure on me and did not explain the risks or complications that could occur. He went as far to just tell me “We are just gonna go down look around and you will be back to work tomorrow.” I was told not to call him back or come back. I was given a stent and sphincterotomy. I woke up in severe pain and given no explanation by Dr. Sigman. I ended up in the hospital less than 36 hours for over a week and almost died. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered as an “elective” procedure. I would not recommend this physician and I am a nurse. I was treated as if I already knew the risks and complications and I had no clue what was about to happen to me.

Because of my high insurance deductible I had to pay the full amount up front. Dr. Sigman seemed impatient to hear my reasons for consulting his services. The test was done seemingly fast (I was awake) and he told me he did not find anything but needed to consult another doctor to further guide me on what to do about my pain. He said he would contact me that after noon. After two whole weeks with no call the only thing I have gotten from Dr. Sigman is a bill. I would never recommend this doctor. His staff was very helpful making appointments, but this doctor is in too big of a hurry to listen or follow up. I have now paid out $1174.00 out for this procedure for nothing.

I suppose as far as being a good doctor, he is, but bed side manner not so good. He was explaining what was wrong with my husband and I asked him to spell a word and he said “ LET me finish!”

Dr Sigman cured a bile Duct issue that was declining my health and taking me down fast, He saw the problem, promised to try and fix and fix it he did, I will forever be grateful for my good friends putting me in touch with Dr Sigman. I honesty believe he saved my life with the help of his Anesthesiologist Dr Arthur Jones,,I’m pretty sure that I would be spending the days and nights with my family if it wasn’t for that team. God Blessed them both with great hands!!

Worse Dr I have ever seen. Puts a note on records that CT is abnormal and then takes 5 days to tell you that there was a mistake. Asked about blood work results and what to do next and he finally writes back after 7 days to say that there is nothing wrong with me. How can I be hospitalized 3x in 2 years for chronic pancreatitis, suffer from retinopathy , seen by head of internal medicine at UAB, go from a 5 A1C to 15 A1C, and insulin dependent diabetic on a pump using 70 units/day insulin, but

After two failed attempts to repair a damaged bile duct elsewhere, I was transferred to Grandview where Dr. Sigman had me on the mend in under an hour. I am impressed and grateful!

I am not saying he is a bad doctor, but he didn't spend enough time with me to make me feel as if his decision was believable. I didn't see him at all after surgery. I still have the same pain and he didn't seem to care to help me figure out what it could be.
