Dr. Rutz did surgery on my back and neck and was nothing less than professional and clearly knew what he was doing. I feel so much better!

Two back surgeries. The first was "guaranteed" to cure the problem. It did not. Second surgery recommended as the more drastic solution since the first did not work. Very cocky. Cannot deliver. Cannot diagnose problems well. Cannot provide solutions. Don't go to him.

I am a 58 years old active man and met with Dr Kevin Ruts' office after trying conservative treatment (physical therapy and and cortizone shots) for alleviating severe back/should/arm pain from a herniated 6-7 and bulging 5-6 cervical discs. Dr Rutz's office walked me through my MRI and showed me the severe stenosis on my nerves from disc. Because conservative treatment did not alleviate pain, I decided to pursue a 2 level disc replacement with Dr Rutz. I had the surgery approximately 24 hours ago. Dr Rutz came in before surgery and talked to me about what all he was going to do. The surgery went great and it took about 2 hours start to finish for the 2 levels. I woke up in the recovery room feeling fantastic, walked to my room. Really no pain to speak of. Up walking around same day of surgery, no soreness in my throat, incisure or neck and have full neck range again. Symptoms all gone. Slept great first day of surgery and then came home. Dr Rutz and team were great.

I’m not sure about these other reviews, I’ve been to this office many times and never had a long wait. Dr Rutz is an amazing Doctor and brilliant Surgeon. He has truly changed my life. The only reason I chose to see him was because I literally had no other choices, chronic burning nerve pain is life altering misery. So as far as his options being surgery and more surgery, that would make sense considering he’s a surgeon, he’s not going to give you a lollipop and tell you to go get acupuncture. He’s going to give you his experienced expert opinion. He’s competent, polite, caring, and very good at what he does. I would recommend him to anyone I crossed paths with.

Absolutely excellent physician. Office visits run very organized. Friendly staff X-rays taken promptly as you arrive to see him. After he gets the reading he has it all planned out. Just as I said very excellent St Luke’s Hospital where he performs his surgeries. Very clean hospital with outstanding care.

Dr. Kevin D Rutz is in my opinion an absolutely marvelous Doctor. I am 80 years young and after walking in constant pain (7-9) level and bent over following a botched open back surgery in 2015 by another unnamed Doctor, after 4 to 5 hour surgery by DOCTOR KEVIN D. RUTZ, and a one night stay in Des Peres Hospital, I WAS ABLE TO STAND FULLY ERECT. My recovery continues at home but the pain is minimal. GOD BLESS THIS MAN AND HIS STAFF.

I had constant pain going down my shoulder and arm due to a neck injury. I saw Dr Rutz because of personal friends who recommended him. He performed the surgery by using a bone in my neck to relieve the pressure on the nerve. I woke without pain and have had no pain for years. I would definitely go back to him if I needed orthopedic surgery on my back.

After years of back pain and trying every non-surgical option out there, it became apparent I needed surgery. I researched many doctors and visited 2 (both of which left me unimpressed) before seeing Dr. Rutz. Dr. R and his entire staff were amazing! They were very professional, curtious, and thorough and unlike many other doctors, Dr. R was happy to answer all my questions/concerns without rushing me along. I had surgery 2 weeks ago and feel like a new person. Can't say enough good things!

I am currently a patient of Dr Rutz 's for recurrent disc herniation issues at L3-4 & L4-5. Unfortunately, he recommended a fusion on those levels. Even after I informed him that I wasn't willing to go through with a fusion, he still spent a lot of time with me discussing lumbar TDR's & other Dr's that perform them in the area. You could tell he genuinely wanted what's best for me even if he couldn't perform it. Only complaint is wait times, but I still think he's better than most orthos.

I made an appointment showed up on time, waited over an hour and then was told there was two people ahead of me. I had to leave to take my son to his therapy appt They called back to reschedule and they were incredibly rude. I was told they were, being nice by trying to reschedule. Really? You're not the only game in town. Unfortunately, my son's therapy schedule is hectic. I don't have an hour or 2 to sit in a waiting room. Still, I don't have these scheduling problems with other doctors
