Saved my life
Dr. Schuster was able to fix a huge hole in my intestines. I’m not an easy case either. I felt that he answered all of my questions fully and everything went well.

Dr. Schuster is terrible. He took care of my mother while she was admitted for a severe brain bleed at Yale. The day she was transferred out of the ICU he wanted to discharge her (this was less than 48 hours after admission and she had not been out of bed yet, never mind evaluated by PT). He then proceeded to treat her like a checklist of things to get done in order to discharge her, rather than a human being. I am a physician and I have never encountered a more insensitive and incompetent doctor in my life. I would never trust him to take care of love one in the future, and would recommend seeking a second opinion if you are forced to receive care from him.

I have now had 2 surgeries under Dr. Schuster's care. I have the utmost trust in his abilities as a surgeon. His bedside manner and his level of interest, concern and response to questions and emails is beyond what one would expect from such a busy doctor.
