Dr. Kimberly Salkey, MD

Dr. Salkey has an incredible bedside manner; she is very kind, patient gentle, and considerate. She genuinely cares about her patients. She is also INCREDIBLY knowledgeable. She treats just about every dermatologic condition and educates patients about their conditions and how to effectively manage those conditions. She never acts rushed during an appointment and allows you to ask as many questions as you have. She also never makes you feel embarrassed if you were to seek her medical advice for some thing you might be embarrassed about. She cares about her patients and their well-being.I can’t recommend her enough.

They took all my personal information, put me on hold, then came back to tell me they are not taking new patients. All my information was given. Whomever you call at VCU or otherwise, ask first if they are taking new patients! Be aware....

Patience and very informative about your medical care

I just had my first visit with Dr. Salkey. Dr. Salkey was extremely professional, polite and caring. Her disposition was very calming. She explained everything to me with great detail ensuring that I understood all that she shared. She was very gentle and did an awesome job in distracting me as she performed the procedure. I was very happy with my care and treatment from Dr. Salkey. Looking forward to my next visit.

Not very attentive and is very generic in responding. I feel like I diagnosed myself. As a black woman going to a black doctor I thought she would be more knowledgeable

She has absolutely zero listening skills and when she does listen she responds with VERY generic answers. Will never visit her again. Its a shame she is at a very good institution (VCU). Visit with caution and low expectations.

Dr. Salkey is wonderful. Very business like and knowledgeable. Only reason for 4 stars is her nasty office staff whom all have attitudes and are very difficult to deal with. Not her fault as she has no choice in hiring as they are hired through EVMS.
