"Wow, did you really gain 20 lbs since the last time I saw you?" Something no pregnant woman needs to hear, but Dr. Zander felt free to say it. There are tactful ways to go about that conversation.

Lacks bedside manners and empathy
My daughter had a visit with Dr. Zander today for a procedure that she had never had before. I had a cough and let her know that I had a tickle in my throat. She said no worries cough all I needed to. After a couple of coughs she sarcastically stated I was distracting her by worrying her that I would get her sick and that she was traveling this weekend and didn’t need to be sick. First of all I am not contagious if so I have enough common courtesy to stay athome and I would not be holding my 4 month old granddaughter. Also why didn’t you wear a mask Dr. Zander. As a physician I am sure you walk through hospitals everyday! I am also sure if you’re taking a flight somewhere during your travels you will be around all kinds of sick people but you’re that worried about getting sick by me enough to ask me to leave the room and leave my daughter to do her procedure alone. I made sure to mention our experience to patient relations. Otherwise I hope you enjoy your trip! Best,Dr. Ivester

Was not interested in my health
It was clear I was just an appointment...questions were answered with just one or two words, not many questions asked, when I had a follow up question sent via my chart she was clearly annoyed by it with her answer. I won't bother going back to her.

Negligent
I was under the care of Donna Lo but she left after I delivered. My PP visit was scheduled with Dr. Zander. She was super excited to put in my birth control, but as soon as I brought up other concerns she totally dismissed them. I asked her if I could have them check my vitamin levels because I had been nursing for 3 years prior to delivery and was now going to be nursing again for an extended period. Her response was “why?”… I was concerned for my well being and she could care less. I also had concerns about my iron levels. I’m now a year from that appointment and feel awful but am unable to go back because I don’t have pregnancy Medicaid anymore. So I just get to feed a human while I’m vitamin deficient thanks to her. Would not recommend anyone on staff at Wake right now. Please consider going to Novant Midwifery if you want proper care.
