Dr. Lakshmi Das, MD

She dismissed my health in ways I had never experienced before. In two years, I’ve seen her only twice, and she based her entire assessment of my health on two lab results, both of which showed that I was within the normal range. She refused to conduct any further tests, claiming they were 'not necessary.' We discovered a nodule on the left side of my thyroid, but she didn’t seem to care. My last appointment with her lasted only two minutes, and she hadn’t seen me for a year before that. She asked how I was doing, and I responded with 'good' (a natural human instinct). She took that answer and used it to conclude that I was perfectly healthy. She never asked any follow-up questions about my well-being or my health. Since I’m on state aid, I wonder if that influenced how I was treated, especially considering she has a 4.7-5 rating on the Carle website. Overall, PLEASE STAY AWAY.

The initial visit went well, but after blood work results were received I was forgotten. I had to follow up with the doctor. Even then, the doctor relayed a "hard to receive" message not with a phone call, but through her nurse, who was ill equipped to present the information, flippant about the risk and pain that was being prescribed, and could not answer questions. Punching lab results into a website and getting an awful answer back would have been about the same level of "care" this doctor provided.
