Intelligent and Compassionate
Doctor Beard was kind enough to see me as a new patient on short notice recently. During the consult, she was incredibly kind and insightful, and it was very evident that her concern for my wellbeing was genuine. I saw her for what's a relatively new and still largely untested diagnosis, but unlike other providers, Dr. Beard did not shy away from the situation.

Absolute lack of professionalism and compassion to the point of being cruel. Rather than leading you to healing through understanding and support Dr. Beard judges your actions and tells that what you are thinking and what you have done is wrong without offering any explanation as to her conclusions.

I saw her a long time ago, but I had a weird dream about being in her office last night (probably because I have been doing a lot of writing about psychology lately for work). I was curious to see if she had changed her approach, but judging by some of the reviews I have seen, she has not. I remember not really being able to afford to see her, but I spent all of my money on visits, anyway. I remember asking her for a referral, and that did not work. I had an eating disorder, so I took it upon myself to see a dietitian, and I told her about that, and she did not seem too delighted about that, either. Also, she just kinda sits there and doesn't say anything if you don't say anything. Eventually, I quit going because it was too expensive, and I wasn't making any progress. Anyway, a good doctor should always be ok with a patient leaving their practice if they feel uncomfortable and that they may be better helped by someone else. I had better experiences with other doctors after her.

My experience with Dr. Beard has been very positive. I see her mainly for therapy but have also taken medication. I have found my appointments to be very worthwhile and consider her to be very intelligent, professional, and insightful. I feel like I have found support and also grown a lot in some challenging areas of my life, as a result of therapy.

Highly recommend. Dr. Beard is very professional, while still caring and approachable. In the past, I have had to go to a psychiatrist for medication maintenance and a separate psychologist for counseling/therapy. In this case, Dr. Beard excels at both.

Socially awkward. Doesn't really talk to you or give advice. My first time visit was a complete waste of time. I will not be going back.

Dr. Beard overmedicated me to what my lawyers think is criminal. Be VERY careful with her, and I agree with prior posts about her fees, etc. I honestly don’t think she cares about patients.

Dr. Beard has a unique style in terms of how she discusses difficult issues and I think this may put off some people. However, I believe she is truly committed to helping her patients and does a great job helping you manage whatever symptoms brought you to her. If you are looking for help with your biochemical psychiatric problems, a doc who has good and regular availability, and a real depth of knowledge about helping and prescribing the right course of action, Dr. Beard is a good choice!

Socially awkward, agreed with my reasons for being depressed and suicidal without offering any hope or helpful solutions. She asked me if I thought I needed medication and what I thought might help (or has in the past), and just left me feeling worse. Still feel shaken by the whole interaction. $280 wasted and an hour of my life I can't get back.

This woman is the most greedy "doctor" I have ever met. She passes herself off as a "concierge psychiatrist", but there is nothing concierge about her. She charges $300 for an initial consultation. 40 minute appointments are $180 and 20 minute appointments are $130! She will not refill your medications unless you come and see her again and pay her again. If you book a 20 minute or 40 minute appointment, she spends LESS THAN 10 MINUTES with you.

Dr. Beard was not helpful. She repeated back the problem and did not provide any type of solutions. After several sessions, my daughter stopped going. We felt that she was there for the money and did not really care about the patient.
