Dr. Lawrence Rueff, MD

Dr Rueff was my PCP prior to opening his own practice. Since then he has always been there for me and recently saw me through a lengthy Hospital stay that I could not have managed without him.

We have been going to see Dr. Rueff for over 10 years, which was before the current concierge business model. He takes the time to listen and expects routine visits, exams and testing. He hold you accountable, and explains things in a very down to earth manner. This is not a patient mill.

I thought a concierge practice would help my husband deal with serious health issues. Dr. Rueff had availability (the top concierge practices didn't), so we met with him and paid about $500. A few weeks later we had a health crisis, so I called Dr. Rueff to acquaint him with the details. He replied, "That's a case for your [specialist]." He made no offer or attempt to help, and acted as if our problem had no pertinence to him. A few weeks later, his office staff called to set up initial lab work. The availability for appointments was extremely limited--not what one would expect from a concierge practice. There were very few appointments, and no time that worked for us. The next time we heard from them was two months later when "Jamie" called to find out if we would pay to renew! I was distressed, and said that our first payment had been a waste of money. Jamie yelled into the phone, "NO! DR. RUEFF IS A VERY GOOD DOCTOR!" and hung up on me! Incredibly unprofessional. A complete ripoff.

Dr. Rueff is thorough, compassionate and knowledgeable. He saved my life during a lengthy hospitalization this past year.

Dr. Rueff is a wonderful Doctor. I believe he saved my life. He is very informative, and gives the extra time to his patients, to make sure we have our questions answered. I highly recommend him.

My Parents have been patients of Dr. Rueff's for over 20 years much to my and my siblings dissatisfaction. My mother passed away years ago from medical condition that we feel should have been caught much earlier than it was. As my father got older, Dr. Rueff began charging a concierge fee, which many doctors do however, as my father spent more time in the hospital and Dr Rueff had to make more frequent visits, he was rude to our family and the nursing staff. When we moved my father out of Louisville, and he had 7 month remaining in his concierge contract, we asked for a refund and we were denied. Dr. Rueff did not respond to 2 legal request. It is very clear to my family that he takes advantage of the elderly. Do you want this to be your doctor?

I have been a patient of Doctor Rueff's for several years. I will never trust another physician as I dio him. He is through, knowledgeable, and takes the time to listen, He sends test results to you with comments, Not only is he an excellent physician, I consider him a friend !!! His office staff, Sharon, receptionist is just darling, and his nurse/assistant, Karen, is like a Sister to me. There is never a wait time, and Doctor Rueff spends as much time with you as you require.

Dr. Rueff has excellent listening skills and allows full time needed to hear & examine patients. He is careful not to over prescribe and has a broad based approach to advising & treating - taking the whole patient's situation into consideration. The feedback by the doctor & using the detailed clinical booklet provided after each physical allows the patient to interact very effectively with the Doctor personally. That booklet of test results & additional feedback after any tests is invaluable.
