Excellent Experience on Every Dimension
Dr. Kastsianok was excellent on every dimension that I use to measure a health care professional:1) knowledgeable and able to communicate at my level.2) Listened first, recapped my problem, offered and discussed alternative solutions.3) I had an unusual RA problem, i.e., I wasn't sure that I had RA. She designed a plan for withdrawing from my medication, going through a trial period without medication, and then scheduled a follow-up appointment to revisit my condition or lack there of.I have seen many, many health care providers over the years (84), and Dr. Kastsianok is right at the top. I would highly recommend her for a consultation or as your permanent RA doctor when she is taking new patients. I plan to be first in line when this happens.

Irreplaceable !!!
Dr. Kastsianok has been my Rheumatologist for 6 years and words cannot express how I feel about her. She is an OUTSTANDING doctor and I would follow her should she ever leave National Jewish. How does she combine her medical knowledge, understanding of me, absolute concern and still be such a lovely human being ? Both my husband and I are so aware of how lucky we are to be with her. It is because of HER that we have included her department in our trust legacy for over $1-2 million upon our passing.

Through and complete diagnoses
Dr. Kastsianok is an outstanding doctor. While she is very professional, she is also friendly and a very good listener. Dr. Kastsianok literally saved my life! I had been ill for a period of time. I was referred to Dr. Kastsianok by a doctor who had diagnosed my illness as something within Dr. Kastsianok's area of speciality. She went back to the onset of my illness, analyzed my history, and ordered a battery of tests. The tests indicated the probability of cancer rather than the original diagnoses. She immediately set me up with an Oncologist. A biopsy confirmed the cancer and I am now receiving treatment. Had it not been for Dr. Kastsanok's quick and thorough work, the cancer would have gone on, undiagnosed, for some period of time and would have progressed to a more advanced stage. Thank you Dr. Kastsianok!

Best Rheumatologist Ever!
Dr. Kastsianok is my angel! I went over 2-1/2 years suffering with a rare condition that no one could diagnose. In ONE visit she reviewed all my medical records, spent over an hour discussing all my symptoms, and finally came up with the plan to run a genetic test. BOOM! Just like that we had answers and medication was started! I went from looking at having to file for disability because I had not been able to work in 9 months, to back to working fulltime! She is a lifesaver and I can't say enough great things about her! She is wonderful and if you are in need of a Rheumatologist, she's the ONE!

Horrible Doctor, Unprofessional
She rushed my appointments, didnt read any of the notes. She never took the chance to learn my name. They just hand out medical degrees these days. I've seen multiple Rheumatologist over the last decade and Dr. Kastianok is by far the worst.

Nice, but incompetent
Visit was rushed. She had not reviewed any labs or reports sent to her prior to the appointment. I even had them on hand and she did not take the time to look. She told me to get an eye exam so she could refill my hcq. Did that, then she required a bunch more tests for that to happen. Finally said that I was stable on that med, then never refilled the med. Lots of hoops to go through, just to get what i had been on for over a year, then didn't even follow through with the prescription. Referred to another dr for a biopsy, but never told that dr she wanted them to biopsy. So, I have to go back for biopsies. Seemed to have completely ignored and discounted the records from my referring Dr. This department is a mess. Takes months to get in for an appointment and then they don't even help, or do what they said they would do when you finally get in. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. NJ is great for lung problems, but definitely not rheumatology.

My husband saw Liudmila Kastsianok today. She is a wonderful doctor! She took her time with him, didn't rush him through like most doctors. She researched his past and present health issues very thoroughly. We definitely recommend her to anyone who needs to see an A plus rheumatologist at National Jewish Health!!
