One of the most thorough examinations by a physician. Took time to know my health history and current state of health. I was prescribed a medication which alleviated my pain having seen multiple doctors in five yrs with no relief. I am beyond grateful.

If your looking for a caring smart Neurologist I would go else where. Which I will be doing. The receptionist/ Nurse are unqualified at doing their jobs properly. Dr. Alderson will not call you back which trust me if your PCP orders an MRI and the report shows changes to your Brain he will not call you back to review it with you. So your left worrying and searching for a new Neurologist which is very stressful on top of a stressful diagnosis.

I do not recommend Dr. Alderson
My PCP referred me to him after a CT scan found a 5.4 X 1.2 X 1.5 CM cyst on my brain. She wanted it checked because of the size. I waited months to see him. When I finally saw him, Dr. Alderson said my PCP was over-reacting, the cyst at its biggest dimension was 1.5 cm and he didn't see a need for treatment. He repeated this and handed me a report and pointed to the 1.5. I was very upset, and didn't read the entire report, which -- had I read it -- also stated the 5.4 cm dimension. (Anything over 3 cm is considered potentially dangerous.) I explained I trust my PCP and couldn't imagine her being so overreactive, as he stated, and asked for another test. Days later, I went to his office and picked up the request for the MRI and finally made the arrangements myself with Portsmouth Hospital. The cyst is over 6.1 cm. The report for the MRI was sent to Dr. Alderson's office. It's been over three weeks, and he still hasn't contacted me with the results.
