Unsound medication choices
Telehealth
I have epilepsy and SVT. Dr. Razafsha didn't take my comorbidities into account when deciding to put me on the last two medications before I stopped seeing him. The FDA says Venlafaxine causes arrhythmias. The NIH issued a warning to providers against prescribing this drug to patients with seizure disorders. Dr. Razafsha said these were opinion pieces. He said my neurologist was responsible for making sure I wasn't on a psychiatric drug that caused seizures. Which it did. I had two seizures when I wasn't having seizures and they were atypical. My SVT which is normally very easily controlled was very aggravated and my cardiologist agreed it was likely due to the Venlafaxine after increasing my cardiac meds had no effect. Dr. Razafsha refused to believe the Venlafaxine was to blame. He then put me on a 150mg of Sertraline which also causes arrhythmias and sedated me because of the enhancing effect it has on benzodiazepines which I take daily for my epilepsy.
