Forgotten again
I have been seeing Dr. Evangelist since 2022. She is not a sarcoma doctor; no sarcoma affiliations, no published papers on sarcoma. Twice now I have been forgotten and overlooked. I had to send 5 portal messages and 2 phone calls in a week’s time to be told by her that she missed my message about putting in my order for chemotherapy. The first time was last year. She never looked at my MRI images. If she had she would’ve seen my vertebrae had designated causing me a huge amount of pain for months.

Dr. Evangelist was highly recommended to me for my lung cancer. I've been seeing her since 2020. As a very anxious patient, she is calming, reassuring, and speaks in a way I can understand. She is a great listener and addresses my concerns. She is the crucial organizer of my team that collaborates with my surgeon and radiology oncologist in my care plan. The office schedulers arrange my follow-up visits 2 days after my CT scans so I don't have to wait. Thank you to all. L.C.

My experiences with Dr. Evangelist has been very positive. My experience with NYOH communications system is horrible. All calls go to a a switchboard and are then distributed to practitioners for response. It does not lead to very uniform response. Scheduling is a small hassle as well. Schedulers are separated by doctors instead of every scheduler having access to every doctor. I'm sure there is an off the self computer system that could facilitate scheduling all doctors. Again this is sporadic, sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad.

I have a oncogene driven lung cancer, and actually seek my primary care with a lung cancer specialist in Boston. However, I have found it necessary to have a local oncologist. I actually was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Evangelist's level of knowledge and preparation. I still recommend having an oncologist in a major cancer center such as MGH, Dana Farber, or MSKCC. But don't be put off by negative reviews here.

Dr. Evangelist was a gift to our family. She is kind, compassionate and thorough in her discussions. She takes the time to tell you what to expect next. She earned the trust and respect of my entire family. I would recommend her to anyone I know who is struggling with lung cancer. She is the best.

This practice should be embarrassed by the way they treat patients and the way they operate. Phone calls regarding urgent medical matters go unreturned for days. You have to call and make a scene to get anyone to do their job. Orders are NEVER put in on time, scans are ordered incorrectly and therefore performed incorrectly. Do yourself a favor and seek treatment somewhere outside Albany before their ineptitude hurts you or someone you care about.

Horrible bedside manner. Pretty much no options except her standard protocol. No "outside the box" thinking in regards to alternatives to hormonal therapy. Insisted and got pretty rude when I explained my concerns with Tamoxifen. After I explained I had no interest in taking it, she scheduled a "follow up" completely ignoring the fact that I had said I wouldn't take it. Smiled, took the follow up card, and threw it out on my way out.

Very disappointed about care during my hospital stays at AMC. Very minimal contact during my 27 days during a two month period of hospitalization. I have left NYOH practice very disappointed.
