Dr. Manuel Bustamante, MD

I just received a bill for 3900 dls from the endoscopy center and 735 dls for anesthesia. I put my health insurance card in the Patient Portal in good time. The office was never able to contact my insurance but they didn't call me to contact me either. Before the procedure, I called the insurance company to report the problem and the insurance called the doctor's office during working hours and since I couldn't communicate I left the message and the insurance person I should call and they never contacted. On January 7, I had the procedure and today, January 22, I receive the bills without paying for the insurance, as if I didn't have one and which covers the entire procedure. The poor work and the lack of consideration for the patient are evident, which is why my evaluation is terrible.

What a kind, competent doctor! I had a wonderful experience in every way with Dr. Bustamante's office staff, his PA, Bledar, the Endoscopy suite staff and Dr. Bustamante himself. His office staff is kind, cheerful and welcoming. When at the office you see Bledar - he is very competent and listens to everything you have to say. He's helpful and upbeat. The entire staff at the endoscopy establishment were gentle and kind. And Dr. Bustamante, who does the procedures, was a very calm and reassuring presence and spoke with me afterwards. Highly recommend.

I had a very poor experience with Dr. Bustamante. He has terrible bedside manner and rushed me at each meeting we had. I would ask him questions and he one foot out the door and his hand on the door handle. He had only been in the room for a few minutes. He left me with questions for his nurse, whom I found to be incompetent. She was not able to explain a procedure to me that they were recommending. I am a nurse myself and found it to be nerve wrecking to put myself in their hands. Bedside manner is extremely important unless you are a genius in your field and it can be overlooked. Not worth it in this case, find a better GI.

Just had a consultation with this doctor. Kept me waiting for almost an hour, didn't apologize, was short and rushed and seemed to have a problem when I inquired about his experience and outcome of his procedures. Will find a doctor with a better bedside manner.

His staff where also very kind and considered. I have no problem returning to Dr. Bustamante should I need to in the future.

Dr Manuel Bustamante is the best gastroenterologist ever. He is very knowledgeable. very patient, he explains things to you as many times as necessary until he is sure that you understood. His office staff is also very knowledgeable and they both are always willing to help. They are very nice.
